Join the Church of England - we accept all. My BF and I both worship together and he is in discussions with the Arch Bishop with regards to becoming Ordained.
Remember to be yourself and do no harm - if a God does not want you like that what use is that. Also God did not write the Bible and St. Paul was Homophobic.

Well I don't know why this is, other than you might be feeling a need to connect with people in fellowship. Maybe there's a void in your life. Whatever the reason, only you can look inside yourself and find the answer.
As for how to go about it, I'd ask friends if you could join them at some of their services. Try out more than one church before settling on any one in particular.
this is a great Answer, so I just copied it. but red queen gave it first, it was just to good not to repeat.

The same thing happened to me when was about 20.Just go with it,I was seeking God or would I say he must of been pulling on my heart.I went to a vineyard church, they are all over the country. Not all religious, but very real people trying to draw close to God.I grew up catholic, and because of some not so positive experiences I personally needed something different. Not to say there is anything wrong with being catholic, there are some wonderful catholic churches as well I am sure.Be blessed in your urge.

There's a reason for everything and maybe the urge you have for church is telling you to try it, if you were brought up in a religion, go for the nearest church of that religion and introduce yourself to the vicar,
I'm not religious at all, and have like you only gone when needed, i haven't been brought up in a religious family but have been 'labelled' c of E as i was christened (I think) so if i had an urge like this I'd just go along and take it as it comes, we get urges, or gut feelings for a reason, try it, no harm can come of trying it to see if it fulfils the urge or if you find you enjoy it...

The main question you need to ask any place you go is whether they are open to GLBT folks.
Call and ask before you go. If they say "what is GLBT" then say "thanks." and move on.
Unitarian Universalist and Reform Judaism will welcome you most readily. Don't know what city you are in but I can give you some Reform synagogues you'll be very comfortable in if you e-mail me.
the impulse you feel is a spiritual quickening, an awakening as you look forward to leading your daily life with mission and purpose. You are lucky you have arrived at that level of understanding.
Good Luck.

The Holy Spirit is dealing with you about your life and wants you to change. I would attend a church you think you might like but I do caution you because of peoples prejudice thinking that you not tell them of your life style. Sorry to say that many of the christian and the churches would shun the very people that need our help. I will keep you in my prayers.

If you are serious, I would go to any church that "felt" right.
I would assume that you have some belief, and faith in God to hear when he speaks to your Spirit.
You have choices to make coming up, and you will need an adviser.
Someone who has been where you are, and are going.
Have a little more faith, and walk on that water, cause as long as you keep the faith, and belief, you will be just fine.

LET your fingers do the Walking!
GET the Yellow Pages or Yellow Book and find the listing for Churches.
Make a list of 10-Questions that you would like to ask and Call Each CHURCH, as ask those Questions!
May I suggest a Bible Church or a Grace Bible Church -OR- One that Believes in the BIBLE and its Complete Authority for the Believer?
Got any other questions, please feel free to email me!
Thanks, RR
