What is one valuable lesson you've been taught on here by someone of a different faith, that you're truly thankful for?
This is NOT an opportunity to be snipey, so if you're thinking of giving a rude answer, please don't. And if you would include your chosen religion, that would be GREAT.
I'll start.
I'm thankful to the atheists on here for making me think, and for pointing out obscure passages in the Bible that I may have passed over without a second thought.
I am a Christian.

Awww, yes, Franz is still kicking around...just barely though. He looks worse and worse every Sunday.

I learned of perseverence, love, and unselfishness through the beautiful story of a man named Franz Jansen. It is you who told me about him, and I think of him, and his story, often. I hope he is well.

*Send him my love please, and let him know that I find him to be an inspiration. If only we were all so fortunate to know this wonderful man.

The elder gods are indifferent to man. Thank you one and all for the refreshing affirmations. If I'm worthy enough at my passing maybe the shield maidens will come to bear me away. Until then I'll just lean on my sword awhile longer and enjoy cold starlight. Norse, the old way.

Confession time:

I've nothing against Christians, but I get twitchy when they apply the "born again" label, because in my experience, a lot of people who call themselves born-again have, put simply, been jerks to me.

Having been mildly pissed when yet again I got a thumbs-down for trying to encourage tolerance (seems to happen an awful lot, and from all different sides), I posted a question asking "What gives?" about that, and got a reply from one of the people that I would have maybe gotten antsy about had I seen the "born again" label before I read her response.

She had words of encouragement and tolerance, and I would not have expected that from someone with the label of being a born again. So thanks to thankyouno for helping me be a little less prejudiced. :)

Sean (of many and various nicknames but perhaps used to be Jim Darwin? Not sure...) reminds me that for all our widely differing views on here, our intellectual debates and slanging matches, what *really* matters in the world is war, poverty, hunger, abuse and so on. What people believe is neither here nor there when it comes to matters of life and death.

I am a born again Christian & proud of it. That does not mean I want to shove the bible down your throat. I am a firm believer in giving you the message & letting you decide what to do with it. i have friends here from differant faiths & I respect them all. i have my faith ( Pentecostal) & I let them have theirs. We all ( OR Most) are trying to live our lives the best we can. I just choise to have God lead me in the direction he wants me to go. I wish my friends would join me but that is up to them.

I am thankful for a muslim friend of mine who really made me think over my spirituality. She was a fundamentalist and would come up with really awkward questions about my faith and her interrogation made me stronger in my relationship with God. I am a Christian too.

I too am thankful to some of the non believers. They make me dig in deeper in my studies, and they sometimes provide good conversations.
I am a Christian.

I'm a Muslim and what I've learned from other religions is to be thankful that I'm a Muslim and try to be a better one to correct the false image of our beloved religion

Pangelism... Pangel keeps reminding me of the wisdom of staying "cooled off" when people get nasty in here.

Godzilla keeps me laughing and Kallan's wise questions and answers keep me thinking, and Lokasenna's "teaching" (w/o her knowing she is) me her religion... so lessons are all around.

I find lessons even in the nastiest of questions and rudest answers too. It's all whatchu make of it.
