I posted a question earlier regarding evolution. One of the answers I got, that read like a book, featured a few dozen little grabs that have obviously been carefully collected to use to try and discredit the truth of evolution.

One of these included a quote from New Scientist, a magazine that I know well and enjoy reading on a regular basis.

New scientist regularly has featured articles on the fight by the scientific community to keep creationism and "intelligent design" out of high schools.

They also cover claims made against evolution.

It is very clear to anyone who reads New Scientist that it is a journal that sees evolution as proven beyond doubt and creationism as a dangerous scourge that must be kept out of the classroom.

They do include quotes from the supporters of creationism and intelligent design. They also systematicly debunk these claims.

Isn't it wrong & decietful to use these quotes as if they represent the view of New Scientist magazine?

It seems like a lot of non-Catholics are up in arms over the Pope's statement on hell. I want to know why. Why would you care about a religion you don't follow?

I'm pretty sure that there are some Muslims who have stood up and said that all infidels will burn in their hell. Not Muslim, don't care. I've been told by a couple of Protestants that because I'm Catholic, I'm going to burn in hell. Not Protestant, don't care.

So, why do you care? If you're not of that religion, it shouldn't bother you. No matter how many people tell you to pack sunscreen. It never bothers me.

The ossuary that was discovered just a few weeks ago is a fraud. Israeli archealogists and Historians crushed that one in a hurry! These supposed findings of Jesus' bones are quite laughable. I guess these people missed the part that says "Jesus was ressurected body and soul into the Heavens"

Hey unbelievers, Keep looking and Christians will keep laughing.

I bet the most common answer that will be givin is:
"Jesus never existed, that's why we can't find his remains"

Because he's not voicing an opinion, he's stating what he believes to be a fact.
Unfortunately, he has neither proof, nor evidence.
Just like all of the other "facts" that christians tout about thier mythology.
And since the previous pontiff stated that hell is not a real place but a state of mind, which one is correct?

... let's talk about Bonhoeffer. Bonhoeffer said, "If evil appears in the form of light, benefit and renewal, if it confirms with historical necessity and social justice then this, if it is understood straightforwardly, is a clear proof of it's abysmal wickedness". Martha Goebbels described the national socialtist idea as "everything I've ever known to be good, beautiful and true". Can the human mind be deceived about right and wrong, foul and fair? If so, how come?

This is a mail I received... Will you vote against?

The Red-Islamic Alliance is looking for its biggest single advance so far with London's anti-English Mayor Ken Livingstone pushing hard for the £100 million mega-mosque which one of Britain and Pakistans' most hardline Islamic sects
wants to build next to the Olympic stadium in East London.

The London Evening Standard is at present running an opinion poll on whether or not the Super Mosque should be built. Since it is planned to be higher than St. Paul's Cathedral, will involve tax-payers' money as well as massive donations from the ultra-fundamentalist Wahhabi regime in Saudi Arabia (no wimmins or gay rights there, Ken!), and will be the biggest symbol so far of the Islamic colonisation of England, the overwhelming majority of ordinary Londoners are
against the development.

57% of the nearly 43,000 people who have voted have supported the
giant mosque.

Surely someone would have come forward and told the Gospels writers that no man by the name of Yeshua was considered a messiah from 4bc to 33ad. Historians would have rejected the Gospels. Eyewitnesses from Jesus' supposed lifetime would have rejected them as well.

I dont expect people to change a belief system or faiths but has anything changed
I'll start
as a protestant Christian I have come to realize that the Protestants and Catholics are probably not as far apart in their beliefs as most might think
example:
praying to statues - I once thought that Catholics did this regularly but its just not true - I have come to understand that it is no different then me praying at my bedside - I'm not praying to my bed but that is what I am looking at/leaning on... whatever - I know my prayers are going to God not to my bed and that is the important thing

In fact I believe there are many other misunderstanding like this between the Protestants and Catholics but that was an easy one to explain

any others have experiences like this?

Read this and tell me if you would persecute me for it (act against me-violence, threats,slander.mockery).:

1: I approve of segregation from humanists, unbelieving, and the pagans, in every aspect of life, from separation in the streets to shunning intercourse with such peoples. For example I will not court a humanist women or engage in idle chit chat on the streets.
2: I have faith in salvation of the faithful and believing only through faith in Jesus and from God's grace. The world and woldy people will not save me let alone they cannot save themselves without faith and divine assitance.
3: I encourage the complete separation from such peoples- I will walk away from these peoples, I will not talk to them or spend anymore time then they deserve.
4: I will only act against you only if you act against me, I will only target pagans, to save them, all the rest will be left in a world of bodies.

This is my last "Seven Deadly Sins" question. I have saved this question for last purposely.

LUST........ Do you think we live in a lustful society? Why or why not? Why is lust a deadly sin? Include Scripture if you can. The most elaborate (and correct!) answer wins!
