atheists don't have a problem with religion because it's BS, and atheists don't believe in god because he doen't exist.
yet if this is truly the case? why do so many atheists find themselves in religious and spirituality forums? hahahaha
because they project their own self doubts onto believers. they have a hard time reconciling the fact that if there is a god, why isn't everyone's life perfect.
in other words they feel sorry for themselves. they will tell you, they feel sorry for you, because you believe in fairy tales, but that is just their own rationalization and justification.

I'm a believer and since atheists like to weigh in on questions asked between believers, I think I'll answer this question, too. I hate religion passionately. NOT God- religion. No other institution in earths history has caused more death and destruction than either organized or disorganized religion. Most religions today are so watered down with acceptance and tolerance for EVERYTHING that they should just shut down and close their doors. Religion as a system of observances and rituals has become a dispensation that has somehow endured beyond any span of rational competence or need of existence. By definition, religion invites and defines its own ridicule.

There's nothing wrong with religion, or God, any God.
The problem lies fair and square with the people who practice petty narrow minded intolerance.
Please allow me to illustrate my point with this example -
"atheists...again..shame".
See? Some people cannot stand the idea of there being a view which might run contrary to their own, and in spite of religious teachings that urge the turning of the other cheek, they launch into these malicious attacks.
To summarise, People are the problem.
Of course, that's only what I think.

I don't have a problem with god. I don't even have a problem with people believing in god. If you want to believe in god, that's your right to do so.
However, I have a strong objection to
# people trying to force religion into law and/or schools
# people telling me that I should be tolerant and accept their belief, then condemning mine
# people saying an atheist can't be moral without an absolute moral standard

That might have been true for me 15 years ago. That's what caused me to think more deeply about God. At the end of all that, I realized that I didn't believe there was one. So it's not that I have a problem with Him per se, I just don't think He's there.

I wouldn't consider myself an atheist but I do have trouble with organized religion. Organized religion has used the cloak of their piety to commit a staggeringly large amount of murder, rape, child abuse, etc. over the years. I am disillusioned with it all. So I am spiritual in my own way.

Perhaps that is your opinion, and you are entitled to it, but perhaps you are wrong, and a lot of atheists don't have a problem with religion, merely the people who push their beliefs onto them and try "saving" their souls when they are content with their own beliefs?

it is a never ending disease - LIFE - each day every day remains dormant, as i get older i realise that we exist to consume and be consumed. We are ants, scuttling around, existing in a world created by governments, corporations, financial institutions and religions. It is strange to me that we are told that we live in a free society, yet, is it truly free? we pay taxes on everything we need, everything we buy, water which should be free, is charged to us, whether from the tap or by the bottle. Essential needs like healthcare, heating, clothing are all charged or/and taxed. To have a roof over our heads, we pay ridiculous sums of money for decent housing, so the rich keep getting richer and the poor, will, eventually die. Sometimes i think i am the only one who see's all this. who thinks all this. Does not anyone else care? Liberal minded people come across as too weak, other political parties change their minds like the wind. There is no fair government for anyone in the world. It is time for change, it is time for sensible decisions to be made, it is time for all of us to be treated as equals.

I just think you spend too much time worrying about a lot of long dead people and some fantasy land in the sky. Live your life, enjoy your family, and stop stressing about a bunch of rules and fears from that foolish religion.

You are exactly right.
Atheists don't believe in God-therefore, how could we have a problem with him? That makes no sense.
Religion, on the other hand, has been responsible for the deaths of millions, and the supression of various others (think gay marriage) among other things.
