I think that if it were a law that a couple had to attend marriage classes before getting married and the same with divorce that we may help our sky high high divorce rate. Of course in the case of domestic violence it would be differenent.

its in there and the man ends his awesome answer asking is it moral to murder or rape if God commands it?

We have seen legal cases in America where "God commands" was used as a (unsuccessful) defense.

I think this is a fascinating topic, the overlap of religion, politics, law, morality.

This is a sort of Socrates question, is something holy because the gods says its so, or is it the gods that determine what is holy?

If Christ has given us the power to live a righteous life.... then why do most of the christians continue to do sin.... what has gone wrong?

Do u think it is neccary to live a SINLESS LIFE to enter Heaven....

My gorgeous weaker half Nermina and I have decided to have my five year old pip of a son Amir stay with her brother and sister in Bosnia this summer.

Hypothetically speaking, is there a way we can have him stay in Bosnia permanently? My wife is European, so can I revoke his green card or something?

His sister is so much smarter. I'd rather use our resources to help make her a great wife.

Of course my wife's family is Christian. I would never be that mean to allow him to go to another religion.

This is all hypothetical, of course.

My question is, when religious people tell me I'm an atheist so why don't I do what I want I'm not accountable why don't I go kill people, I ask three questions, one - how come I haven't killed anyone even thou I am an atheist, two, why do some religious people kill others, and three, if I proved to you there was no God, (there are these people called atheists who stopped believing cause someone proved it to them, or they proved it to themselves), would these people then go around killing people - as they said when they were religious if there was no God why not go killing people.

Or would they act like decent responsible atheists? Like the majority of us atheists act, morally and decently - not killing.

You can nit-pick and say will lieing and all that, but religious people do that too so there isn't much difference there.

Specifically talking about violent crimes.

Please don't give me that I need a savior stuff I don't believe in God so can I get a real answer?

Have any of you every worked at a place that would not respect your religious beliefs? For emample, wouldn't give you the day off for Christmas, Easter, Yam Kippur, Kwanza, or any other day that was important to you spiritually? Athiests are welcome to answer as well, I don't know what days are important to you but I will after you answer.

if you don't believe in Jesus, nor celebrate Easter (Resurrection Day of Jesus), do you still take the day off on Good Friday? This day is given off because of the death of our Lord Jesus, to reflect on what He did for us. Why would you take it off if you don't believe in Christ? Do you observe all the Christian holidays that like Christmas? This is for all non believers in Christ.
