There are a lot of Christian friends I've made from yahoo answers and they are awesome when they answer,

but some Christians just spew forth filth, useing the psychological warfare tactic of "hell", and even one called me "you people".

"you people" - even thou its 2007 I don't like being called "you people"

I used to always say lets not divide up the categories but I'm thinking "you people" need to go somewhere else and leave the rest of us here.

Go away and please, just please,

I don't believe in Jesus, don't answer my questions if you do. (With the exception of the 5 or 6 persons who know me and don't play that game of "you people" or "hell" on me)

Thank you

If god created the entire universe some 4000-6000 years ago, and light takes time to travel, how is it even possible that the light from stars that are millions of light years away have time to get here for us to see them?
For those that don't know what a light year is(as I suspect many that this question is directed to will not) It is the distance that light travels in a year, so for a star that is one light year away, what we see of it, is delayed by one year, thus a star that is 1 million light years away, what we see is delayed by 1 million years.

I mean, I know some groups throughout history were TERRIFIED of sex (The Cathars, Shakers, etc.) and thought it was the eviliest thing you could do. But, I'm not sure I see how 'normal' traditional Christians are somehow against sex. They just have a different understanding of its proper role than many other people. Am I interpreting this correctly, or am I way off?

By being primates we ARE related to apes, whether you like it or not.

What's wrong with that anyway?

I have heard that that under Feng shui (or something like that!) if you keep a pair of pigeons' idols in your room it brings love in your life.

I have heard that it should be kept in the North west corner.

But my room doesn't have a corner in the North West. There is a wall there. So where do I keep it then?

Jesus said to Martha, John 11:11 - Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.

Many doctrines teach when you die you go to heaven or hell. Was Jesus then lying to Martha that Lazarus was simply sleeping?

John 3:13 - No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man.

Does this scripture mean everyone who died prior to Jesus suffered in hell?

Did faithful Job who would not curse God even when Satan killed his family; died and go to a fiery hell for hundreds or maybe thousands of years until Jesus died for his sin?

It's there but it moves very swiftly and silently to avoid touch. I ask it for help with my life, sometimes it does, sometimes not. It also demands 10% of my paycheck.

First of all, disagree with any of these facts?:

-God allows humans to suffer pain.
-God posseses Ultimate and Complete Power.
-God does not think pain is a good thing.

Ultimate power would suggest that God can do absolutely anything. i.e He creates all the rules. Rules of Logic, Rules of Physics, etc.

God does not think pain is a good thing, yet he allows humans to suffer pain.

He does this because he wants to build our character, he wants our nature to reflect his.

This means he is following a rule.
The rule is we cannot build this character without pain.
Which means he made a rule for himself that means he has to allow pain to exhist.
If he has Ultimate power why?

An answer is what does good mean if there is no evil, how can we have love without hate. We can't, because of the laws of logic that God made. Why would he?

one answer ia that the pain we experience seen in proper perspective is so minor that it means nothing.
How do we explain the pain that Jesus experienced?

Go on. The Bible is unreliable you say, and is just a series of fictional works. Prove it. Tell me why it should not be trusted, considering that most of what we know about history comes from similar documents, many of which are religious in nature.

Go on, tell me...

When you hear a suicide bomber set his bomb off, that is the sound of the god he is worshipping.

For those of you who need further explanation:
the god of hate, the god of violence

The God of the universe does not advocate these acts. Instead, he proposes love, patience, long-suffering, tact, compromise.

Anything but harm your fellow man.
