I know Christians and other groups of people get bashed on here too, but I see a lot more of it being done to Christians..
Also, not ALL of us push our religion. I think everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

In the American culture, the progression of liberalism is fueled by the support of groups who advocate homosexuality, Atheism, abortion, public education free from Judeo-Christian influence (but not necessarily free from Islam, Buddhism, Hindu or other influences) and a variety of other causes which are opposed by the morals championed by the conservative movement which is allied to the religious right dominated by Christian and Jewish principles.
So, from the liberal point of view, the friend of my enemy is my enemy. Since Christians and Jews hold beliefs that by large conform to conservatism, and since conservatism is the enemy of liberalism. The liberals tend to attack the religious as a result.
Furthermore, religions maintain a strict definition of what is right and what is wrong. Liberalism holds that what may be wrong for one person is not necessarily wrong for another person. Religion believes that there is an absolute truth and teach that certain behaviors are intolerable. Liberalism does not like for people to tell them that something that they are doing is wrong.
It is not a matter of them being the biggest.......well, you know, but a matter of them lashing out at against what they perceive as a threat to their way of life.
In closing, one might wonder why they don't just ignore religious people who try to show them the error of their ways. Why do they feel the need to bash religious people?
I submit that it is for their own sense of comfort. Deep down they know what they are defending is wrong. That stirs feelings of guilt within them and they feel the need to lash out. What easier target than a group of forgiving, loving and generally peaceful people?
Do not let them get you down. The battle has already been won; the victory is assured. Keep spreading the Word. Who knows, the Holy Spirit may yet convict them in their hearts and draw them to the Son.

First of all, I do not suppose individuals will have to be bashing. By that I imply identify calling and crude. However, if what you imply is difficult Christians of their religion, then I suppose many Christians ask for it. When you profess a perception in whatever but cannot deliver a rational purpose with a few form of empirical evidence and but desire others to be given and consider it, you've gotten opened the door to being challenged. And Christians are one of the most first individuals I've obvious to begin calling different individuals ignorant considering that they ask for a few style of evidence rather then "considering that it is within the bible." There is not any empirical evidence that the author's contained within the Bible have been whatever however natural individuals looking to make feel of matters the pleasant manner they knew how 2000 years in the past. Why I could presume that students of that generation are extra enlightened or educated that trendy is past me. If you desire to quietly train your faith and it lets you be a greater man or woman, then bless you and maintain the religion. If that religion method looking to legislate every body else's ideals or habits, then I will battle you each step of the way in which.

Because most people in this section of Y/A (religion) are just here to make fun of Christians. Their intent is to try to get a rise out of Christians. Some of them will claim that there is equal bashing going on of all religions here, but anyone with eyes can see that it is mostly towards Christians.
Don't let it bother you. Pray for these people to see the light. Don't fall into the trap of having useless arguments with them. It's politically correct to bash anything Christian, but try the same with Islam, Buddism, Hiduism, etc. and you will see will be called intolerant. Funny how people can't be tolerant of Christianity like they are with all other religions.

Christians have always been persecuted for their faith. I think that Christians have gotten the reputation for being pushy because some of them act like they know what's right for everyone. Most people find it offensive when someone tells them how to live their lives. I think if Christians lived by example alone (which many do, I'm not addressing them) they would be able to live without as much hatred against them. On the other hand, sometimes there is unjust hatred in the world, stuff that you will never get rid of. Negative people always look for a scapegoat and Christians are just that for them. Remember, if you are a Christian, it is in your nature to suffer. We all will from time to time and if you have read much of the bible you know that you are blessed for suffering for such a just and holy cause. Not everyone is going to like you for who you are (Christian), it has taken me a long time to learn to live with that fact and I struggle all the time.

I would like to start by saying they are not just attacking christianity. No, but they are attacking every religions, traditions
and way of life. It is wierd that most extreame Atheists are say they are following Atheism when really they are following Nihilism. If you study Nihilism, you can see how the Germens in WW2 had been changed by this kind of sick and perverted kind of thinking. They are not even belivers, tell me which person that fears God, would go around doing sins and dooming mankind?! that's right they wouldn't. May God aka Allah {STW} have mercy and guides everyone to the right and straight path.

I see a lot of bashing on both sides, but I wouldn't go as far as to say MOST people. There are some individuals that feel the need to this in this forum. The problem is that it is way too easy to post negative comments about any one or anything if you feel your anonymity is protected and I definitely believe that is the case with Yahoo answers.

WOW!
think about it...
there used to be a line
that people wouldn't cross,
a seeming separation of church and state.
POOF
it is GONE, and your comment build up shows
a lack of respect for others
in person and behind a keyboard.
the measure of many men and women
has consistently diminished
People have to regain self respect first
then their beliefs may follow.
remember
what the radicals and all others forgot...
what you put out....comes back to you
it multiplies on the return trip though!
PEACE

I don't see the 'bashing' ... i see people who don't know what Christianity is all about and they maybe make comments about it... but as far as bashing... that would be taking a person and humiliating or harming them....
when someone 'disses' my Faith in Jesus Christ... they arent personal attacks on me... they are just trying to disprove or turn from who Jesus is... and Jesus can hold His own in those.... I guess the biggest thing is to stop taking it personally.... realize that just cuz they don't know Jesus, may be why they are slammin comments about Him.... feel sorry for them and pray for them...

because the christian tendency to push the idea that their way is the only way, coupled with their annoying habit of making their religion the epicenter of everything that they are, makes them easy targets. a great many of them are elitist, completely dismissing everyone who doesn't believe the way they do. they post stupid stuff, like "i am that i am?", and get totally bent out of shape when people point out that it makes no sense. ask them to clarify, and they just repeat themselves, or start spouting scripture, like the idea of using their own thoughts and words in their explanations is completely alien to them. and to me at least, anyone who can look at modern day christianity, and read the bible, and truly believe that they are getting the whole and accurate story of the man called christ, is more than a little gullible. and sometimes gullible people are such easy marks that it's hard not to mess with them.
so was this a negative answer?
