Protestants: non-prophet organizations ;-)

Protestant: A Bible! A Bible! we have a Bible and we need no more Bible!

First, what is hidden from our "laity" that is not hidden from everyone else? I mean, that is just the most asinine thing to say! If everyone else knows, then, well, Mormons must be REALLY stupid then, huh?
Second, those "pagan" symbols on our temple? To paraphrase, "Pagan is as pagan does". Those symbols mean what we say they mean. You can see what you want, but you won't necessarily be seeing correctly. You can tell us they are pagan, you can even break it down and explain the Paganistic meanings behind each one. In fact, I would love to be enlightened. You see, we are not told anything about any pagan meanings.

I think these things are the difference:
Mormons believe in the Bible as well as the Book of Mormon. We believe that Heavenly Father continues to reveal things to us in this day and age (since times are always changing) therefore he has given us a modern day prophet just like days of the old.
Mormons believe that we are not born with Adam's sin, and that children can not be held accountable for their choices until the age of eight when they have a clear understanding of right from wrong, this is when they can get baptized. They also get baptized at this age so they can understand what baptism is about and what covenants they are making.
We believe that marriage can be eternal not just till death, through the temple marriage which is also called a sealing. When a family is married and sealed in the temple they believe that if they live a worthy life, they can be together forever in heaven with Heavenly Father and Jesus.
We do not believe that non-mormons will go to hell. We actually believe in three kingdoms of heaven and then outer darkness.
Then simple things like the word of wisdom where Mormons do not drink alcohol at all, smoke, take recreational drugs, drink coffee or caffeinated tea, eat healthy ect.
Mormons also believe that after Jesus and all his apostles were killed, the true church of Jesus broke off into seperate branches. Thus the dark ages.
We believe that through Joseph Smith Jesus' church was restored and so was the priesthood.
We believe lots and lots. You can find everything at LDS.org

Some guy, Smith, I believe, claimed to have found a golden plate inscribed with a mystical language that only he could decipher. The plate supposedly gave him all kinds of ideas about an appearance of Jesus in the Americas and that the Americas' population was descended from Israelites. There are all kinds of concepts that Mormonism was founded on that are now routinely hidden from the laity, I suppose for fear of what they might think of their church if they knew.
