Eating the apple of the tree of knowledge gave them the knowledge of right and wrong. This means they didn't have this knowledge before. So they could not possibly have known that is was bad to disobey the command not to eat from this tree before they ate of its fruit.
Why then were they punished for something they had absolutely no chance of understanding?

I think there are about 17 years of Jesus' life that are unaccounted for. Meaning they are not explained to us in the Bible. We don't know where Jesus was, or what he was doing during this time.

What is the answer to this? Where was Our Lord? What was he doing?

What do historians say? What do faithful Christians say?

IS there an answer?

I've been to church a few times in my life - weddings, baptisms etc. - and I'm struck by how religion seems to degrade and debase people. This is Church of England so it's really pretty innocuous but even so, I cringe at the attitude that we're all worthless sinners, incapable of doing anything decent without divine help, and fit only to worship and grovel before God. It's genuinely quite disturbing and distasteful. People should have a little more self-respect. Do you agree?

If Jesus paid for our sins what does this verse mean
"The father shall not be put to death for the children, neither the children put to death for the fathers; every man shall be put to death for his own sins. DEUTERONOMY 24:16"

My Pastor has been talking recently about 'creating glory'. He says that we (humans) can not only GIVE glory (to God), but we can actually CREATE glory. Durig the service, he had the congregation divide into two groups, facing each other. "Extend your hands toward the center as we worship" he said. "This is the 'Glory Zone". If you want a touch from God, come into the "Glory Zone". Then he (the Pastor) walked into the area he refered to as the glory zone, almost as if he (the Pastor) were the one receiving the glory (NOT God). Other members of the congregation came into the glory zone with him, and he prayed for them, and they got 'slain in the Spirit' (fell over) It all kinda felt like witchcraft to me. I've never heard of MAN creating Glory, only God. I've only read in the Bible about GIVING Glory to God, not "creating" it. Can we actually 'create glory'? Has anybody else heard of this practice in the Bible or the Christian Church? Thank you and God Bless !

I just responded to a question from a JW. This person asked if anyone had any questions about JW's beliefs, so that they can clear up any misunderstandings, since they, themselves are a JW. So, I asked: Where in the Bible does it say that Jesus was Michael the Archangel (among other things)? The Asker would not answer my question, so someone else asked her why wouldn't she answer. And within minutes, she removed her question entirely. Why did she remove her question??? Why can't we have a simple discussion about religion? Afterall, she was the one who asked =).

Isn't everyone getting a little tired of fighting. Really I know I am why can't we put aside petty differences? All the religous conflicts going on right now are incredibly foolish. We fight each other based on what our culture taught us instead of trying to view things form another person's point of view. Where's the Love? Where's the the thought?
