Two requirements for Easter duty, for Catholics:
1) Go to confession, if in a state of serious sin (to prepare the soul for number 2, below).
2) Receive holy Communion at Mass (The Mass, the Last Supper, and the Crucifixion constitute the eternal fulfillment of the Jewish Passover).
This can be accomplished any time from the begining of Lent right through Pentecost Sunday.

It means that Easter is a day of obligation. In other words certain leaders of the church think that it is mandatory you attend on that day.
