The Qur'an has some pretty revolting stuff in it, but then so do other 'holy texts' like the Bible:
[2:126] "As for him who disbelieveth, I shall leave him in contentment for a while, then I shall compel him to the doom of Fire"
[4:56] Lo! Those who disbelieve Our revelations, We shall expose them to the Fire. As often as their skins are consumed We shall exchange them for fresh skins that they may taste the torment.
8:14 That (is the award), so taste it, and (know) that for disbelievers is the torment of the Fire.
10:4 ...as for those who disbelieve, theirs will be a boiling drink and painful doom because they disbelieved.
17:10 And that those who believe not in the Hereafter, for them We have prepared a painful doom.
18:29 Say: (It is) the truth from the Lord of you (all). Then whosoever will, let him believe, and whosoever will, let him disbelieve. Lo! We have prepared for disbelievers Fire. Its tent encloseth them. If they ask for showers, they will be showered with water like to molten lead which burneth the faces. Calamitous the drink and ill the resting-place!
22:19 These twain (the believers and the disbelievers) are two opponents who contend concerning their Lord. But as for those who disbelieve, garments of fire will be cut out for them; boiling fluid will be poured down on their heads, Disbelievers will wear garments of fire, boiling fluid will be poured on their heads, their bellies and skin will be melted, they will be tormented with iron hooks, and when they try to escape they will be driven back with the taunt: Taste the doom of burning.
22:20 Whereby that which is in their bellies, and their skins too, will be melted;
22:21 And for them are hooked rods of iron.
22:22 Whenever, in their anguish, they would go forth from thence they are driven back therein and (it is said unto them): Taste the doom of burning.
... And so on, and on, and on, and on, ad nauseum. Utterly vile.

I think Islam is made up, just as Christianity, Judism and other religions. I do believe in something, I am just still figuring it out. I am over 60 years old and the longer I live the less I am sure of. I was raised Catholic but I became an athiest in my teens, now, who knows. I am sure, that for me any organized religion is harmful. Every one of them have some kind of faith-based dogma which each member must believe in order to get where ever it is they are going. All I can say is that I have a beautiful questioning mind which is only interested in performing for the good. If a god created this mind, then he/she/it must enjoy my questions because god has never given me an answer. You know about the story of the rich man who was very good and gave so much to the poor. He had some sins, he loved to have sex with different people, he loved to get high and he never believed in god. When he died, he was immediately taken up to heaven by a very beautiful angel as a reward for all of his good works. When the angel was giving the man a tour of heaven, he noticed so much love and partying going on but no chastising or hate. When the tour was about through, the angel said "I have one more place to show you, but you have to be very, very quiet". The angel took the man to a very huge wall which seemed endless and went on for miles in every direction. When the finally arrived at the top of this wall, all the man could see for miles and miles were people in white robes praying on an on... When the man asked what these people were doing and was he going to have to do that too, the angel laughed and said, "Oh no, these are the Christians, Muslims and Jews, they think they are the only ones up here".
End of story.

There is a huge difference between Islam and Muslims. On one side, most Muslims are really nice friendly honest people; but on the other hand, some Islam teachings should be taken very carefully. This does not mean that Islam lacks good teachings though. Respect for elderly, respect for parents, family values, time management are amongst the great teachings of Islam. On the other hand, there are some teachings that discriminate women and non-Muslims.

The first religion was Judaism this was the religion given to Adam. He was not a Muslim he did not call god ALLAH he called him YAWH or YAHWEH( this is the name that God gave to moses meainig I AM in hebrew and this is the namethat God said that he was to be called for all generations. ALLAH is a word that was derived from AL-liah which means al (the) ilah (diety) the god because Arabs used to worship more than one god. ISLAM was later changed into a monotheistic religion. Jesus was not a muslim nor was any other bible figures they were all Jews up until after christ. nobody prayed to one direction, ate with one specific hand. I am not here to simply criticize but i think that people should study history and if your religion does not add up with documented history then something is wrong

The beliefs of Islam are to believe in one god(Allah)-same god that Jews and Christians believe in and to believe that Muhammad(scw) was the last prophet. Muslims believe in Jesus as a prophet not as god or the son of god. Also believe in the angels, day of judgment, books(bible, gospel, psalms of David etc..). Islam means peace.Muslims believe in peace-killing a person is like killing all of mankind so we are not allowed to kill-it is a major sin. Don't judge the religion by those who follow it and do stupid stuff. If you want more information on Islam you should read the quran-holy book of Islam or research.

They are just like all other religion, driven completely by stupidity, except Islam is the worse of them and they are nothing but a gang of criminals heading to their ultimate total destruction. The self-destruction.

Why would you wait until someone spouts off their ignorance? Go ahead and form an opinion based on real research, or perhaps by talking to a Muslim.

i think i can respect certain aspects of that religion.
what i don't respect is the twisted freaks who take a lot of it and do a lot of damage (9/11) in the name of god. the extremists seem to be contributing to the "one bad apple" party line.

ISLAM
A religion deeply respected by most people.A religion about love, truth and peace. A religion that ALLAH created and HE is the MERCIFUL & THE MASTER OF THE WORLDS.There is no other GOD but only ALLAH.
The first thing that one should know and clearly understand about Islam is what the word "Islam" itself means. The religion of Islam is not named after a person as in the case of Christianity which was named after Jesus Christ, Buddhism after Gotama Buddha, Confucianism after Confucius, and Marxism after Karl Marx. Nor was it named after a tribe like Judaism after the tribe of Judah and Hinduism after the Hindus. Islam is the true religion of "Allah" and as such, its name represents the central principle of Allah's "God's" religion; the total submission to the will of Allah "God". The Arabic word "Islam" means the submission or surrender of one's will to the only true god worthy of worship "Allah" and anyone who does so is termed a "Muslim", The word also implies "peace" which is the natural consequence of total submission to the will of Allah. Hence, it was not a new religion brought by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) I in Arabia in the seventh century, but only the true religion of Allah re-expressed in its final form.
Islam is the religion which was given to Adam, the first man and the first prophet of Allah, and it was the religion of all the prophets sent by Allah to mankind. The name of God's religion lslam was not decided upon by later generations of man. It was chosen by Allah Himself and clearly mentioned in His final revelation to man.
