I love being a christian but I dont shove it down peoples throats nor am I onbnoxoius about my faith. But I have had people be very mean and legaglistic with me and treated me like dirt because "I did not have the knowelge they had" it is not wonder this assembly had problems as well as the school and why it closed down. I feel being a witness is how you live and what you give not treated people like "causes" to reach people to the Lord but treating people the way you wish to be treated in return Matthew 7:12.

Does it bother you that people that profess to be christians can be very legalistic and overly judgemntal?

“For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:18-19 RSV) Clearly the Old Testament is to be abided by until the end of human existence itself. None other then Jesus said so.

"Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest part or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place." (Matthew 5:17 NAB)

I gotta tell ya, it doesn't sound like Jesus meant for you guys to be ignoring the old testament stuff....

I watched Nova and Scientists have agreed that a mega flood carved thousands of miles in the Northwest called the Scab Lands. They stated that a catastrophic flood carved out canyons that look like the Grand Canyon. They used models to demonstrate their points. It was very interesting. I guess that Science supports the Bible again and again.

in one question alone, i have seen several of you point out how if evolution were true, it would still be happening. IT IS! micro, as in humans getting fatter as we don't have to chase our food. Macro happens over thousands, millions of years. Of course we can't observe it. But the idea is that lots of micro turns into macro. How can you support micro so strongly (because you don't want to look completely ridiculous. it isn't really supported in the Bible), then reject that it could add up to something bigger over millions of years?

Would biblical commandment for parents to kill unruly children hold up in court? How about if it was that guy who put the giant 10 commandments on his courthouse lawn...surely he'd understand.

I've been mulling over finding out and practicing the science of hypnosis. But as a Christian man, I'm not sure if having that kind of desire is sinful or not in the eyes of God, and in the light of His Word (the Bible). Therefore, can any of my spiritual siblings in Christ Jesus tell me if wanting to study hypnosis is, in fact, a sin or not (please provide Scripture references, please). Thank you all. And may the best/sanctified answer win!

Not that I'll be there to be bothered by them, since heaven is merely a concept.

A religious man is on top of a roof during a great flood. A man
comes by in a boat and shouts "get in, get in!"

The religous man replies, "no, I have faith in God, he will grant
me a miracle."

Later the water is up to his waist and another boat comes by, and
again, they request that he get into the boat.

He responds that he has faith in God and God will give him a
miracle.

With the water at about chest high, another boat comes to rescue
him, but he turns down the offer again because "God will grant him
a miracle."

With the water at chin high, a helicopter throws down a ladder,
and they tell him to climb it.

Yet, spluttering with water in his mouth, he again turns down the
request for help due to his faith in God.

He arrives at the gates of heaven with broken faith, and says to
Peter, I thought God would grant me a miracle, and I have been let
down."

St. Peter chuckles and responds, "I don't know what you're
complaining about! We sent you three boats and a helicopter."

I was wondering how you can not believe in evolution since the facts are right in your face. It's kind of like saying you don't believe in the sun.. it's obvious that it's there. I am not putting you down I just want to understand. Thanks.

The song on the tv said "Nothing Else Matters".
Is that too weird...or pruely coincidental...or God's way of telling me that "Nothing Else Matters"...
I totally believe in signs from God.
