I love being a christian but I dont shove it down peoples throats nor am I onbnoxoius about my faith. But I have had people be very mean and legaglistic with me and treated me like dirt because "I did not have the knowelge they had" it is not wonder this assembly had problems as well as the school and why it closed down. I feel being a witness is how you live and what you give not treated people like "causes" to reach people to the Lord but treating people the way you wish to be treated in return Matthew 7:12.

Does it bother you that people that profess to be christians can be very legalistic and overly judgemntal?

Please forgive. Those who are judgmental and legalistic, are stuck at a certain level in Christianity. Hopefully they will look to Jesus more and understand that Christianity is a personal relationship with Him.

Not bothered in normal life.
i live in the Philippines and am surrounded by a supposed religious population, mailnly Spanish-introduced Catholicism (yet there is a HUGE crime rate and enormous corruption AND we are threatened by muslim terrorist factions) but, day by day, I am not affected by their stupidity (stupidity in unquestionably accepting that there is a supernatural entity out there).
I only really get riled when I see that today's children, at an impressionable age, are being force-fed religion. We all know how it is happening in islamic countries, where there is no choice, but it should not be happening in a civilised world.

Other than that, you can believe in whatever you want, you can live in a dream-world if you wish. Just don't force religion onto people through government legislation, onto young children who are too young to form a reasoned opinion, onto alternative lifestyle choices.

Finally, a message for muslims. Once upon a time, your culture was very creative. A long time ago. Now, it is very destructive. Religion has distorted your view., your lives and, importantly, the lives of innocent victims That is a very great shame. You should be ashamed of yourselves and you should also realise that by doing nothing about the murders and the destruction, you are condoning them ... or are you just cowards?

Well I think you have to remember we are still human. Not perfect. Yes we will be judgmental at times, some are legalistic in there views, but it doesn't change the fact that they are Christians. Each serving and fulfilling a different part of the body of Christ. Don't get discouraged.

It's bothering and frustrating that Christianity never EVER takes responsibility for the actions of the people that Christians say only 'claim' to be of it.

Try being an atheist, and see how you're treated around religious people.

For what it's worth, I've never been offended by any of your comments, even if they don't all interest me.

I'm bothered when anyone is judgmental. Legalistic doesn't bother me, if people keep their legalism to themselves. For example, the Amish are very strict with their doctrines, but they pose no threat to me or my lifestyle, so I don't mind them. As a matter of fact, I buy stuff from them. It's expensive, but the quality is beyond anything you get from industrial manufactures. But I digress. :)

Yes, it bothers me. But I've never seen that behavior from you.

Yes. It turns people from God. Why don't they stop and think first!
