A religious man is on top of a roof during a great flood. A man
comes by in a boat and shouts "get in, get in!"

The religous man replies, "no, I have faith in God, he will grant
me a miracle."

Later the water is up to his waist and another boat comes by, and
again, they request that he get into the boat.

He responds that he has faith in God and God will give him a
miracle.

With the water at about chest high, another boat comes to rescue
him, but he turns down the offer again because "God will grant him
a miracle."

With the water at chin high, a helicopter throws down a ladder,
and they tell him to climb it.

Yet, spluttering with water in his mouth, he again turns down the
request for help due to his faith in God.

He arrives at the gates of heaven with broken faith, and says to
Peter, I thought God would grant me a miracle, and I have been let
down."

St. Peter chuckles and responds, "I don't know what you're
complaining about! We sent you three boats and a helicopter."

A perfect example! When are the population of the world going to wake up and realise.... God is just a fantasy!! Jesus Christ was the greatest con artist to exist.. religion has been the primary cause of war on this planet.. yes I suppose its nice to have faith if you want to be blind and comfort yourself... why not try being brave and honest?

Sometimes the answer to prayer is 'yes,' sometimes it's 'no,' sometimes it's 'maybe' and frequently is 'well then get off your butt and do something, I've got your back.'

That's one of my favorite jokes. You might enjoy this one.

A minister dies and goes to heaven. He's waiting at the gate and this scruffy looking guy who can barely understand English shows up behind him. When St. Peter gets to his post he sees the scruffy looking guy and runs over to him shouting. "It's you! Wow! It's really you!" He gives the guy a robe of silk, keys to a ferrari, and a silver staff and ushers the guy in.
Then St. Peter turns to the minister. "Oh here," and he gives the minister a wool robe, a skateboard, and a wooden staff. "I guess we have room for you."
"Hey!" says the minister. "WHat gives? How come that guy got all the good stuff. I've been preaching the word of God for years!"
St. Peter shrugs and says. "Well we work on the merit system here. Everytime you preached, people fell asleep. That guy is a New York City cab driver. Everytime he drove, people pray."

I love this story! It's typical of what they do. Did you ever read "Kon-Tiki"? These people made a raft to make a journey ancient people made. One man had a thing on board to filter the sea water into drinking water. The Christian on board threw it overboard & said God will protect us. Everyone died except the man who had the desailination device. Makes you think about stem cell research, doesn't it? If God gives you the intelligence to solve some of the illnesses you have, why not use it?

I'd say that it really should'nt be asked if one certain group, race, tribe or even those of a certain faith !!.It's really what understanding some may have !?! For instance the chanes given to the man of this story Cristian or other`wise should be able to tell when a helper or savior comes in time or at anytime... Will you except the one that's trying to help you get saved is the question!?!-sbcglobal.net ` "R"r.r`a'wWw`,rRr.->

Given the present scenario in the international as we talk, Jesus isn't tarrying. The prophetic scenario is taking part in out basically because of the fact the Lord has pronounced. Israel transforming into a rustic in 1948 placed us on rapid forward to the top of the age. study Matthew 24 & 25, Mark 13 and Luke 21 to understand the signs and indicators of His coming then understand Luke 21:31 & 32 and get chills! we are that era! As on your unique question: we ought to consistently wait consistently.....besides the shown fact that it heavily isn't long now!

That's what they do. Miracles either happened long ago or will in the distant future. That way they are never wrong. Of course, even if proven wrong on anything and everything they will never admit it. That is the teaching and why it is so dangerous.

Hello. This story in my opinion means that when we recieve miracles that we may not see that miracles can come in the form of something we really need. I also like the first answer you got.

Did you know that it was thirty years before St Monica's prayers were heard ?But it was worth the wait because her son whom she prayed for became a doctor of the church:St Augustine.

Yes, some do. Me? I see them happen and give God the credit. Do I see all of them? HA! Who can? We are not gods ourselves. But some will take perfectly good, undisputable miracles of Biblical magnitude (which I have seen a few of) and chalk it up to coincidence. Sad. A joke that strikes wayy too close to home, huh? I have heard your joke before but it is one of my faves. Thanks.

this depends on what we ask for:) when God thinks were not ready He sends us things to slow us down, when God thinks it will not make us better He send things to make us grow, but when Gpd thinks giving us the miracle we ask is ok, then its a go:)
