I like to dress up like a woman occasionally when I'm by myself. Am I doing something wrong? The Bible says that I'm going to hell, what do you think? know its not exactly a normal behavior, but I don't see how I'm hurting anyone. Besides, I'm quite pretty...if I do say so myself.

I was born an atheist.

I knew nothing about a god until my parents and others used god as an explanation for things they couldn't offer natural explanations for.

Essentially, I had theism imposed on me through a series of promised rewards and threatened punishments - without my permission.

I reverted to my natural, BORN state of atheism as soon as I was old enough to reason for myself.

I voiced my decision in life as soon as I understood I was free to believe what I wanted.

What remains when you abandon forced theistic beliefs is an atheistic (literally without theism) mindset. I do not devote energy to atheism, just as I don't spend time each day NOT believing in mermaids, flying pigs and talking unicorns. It's simply my natural, unadulterated state.

Nothing could possibly feel more pure or normal to me.

Can you theists understand this?

Its simple, we exist as we are. But what is the purpose? its for those that wondered this. I am not looking for some quote out of a religious doctorin but rather in your own words, any one ever really put it into simple words?

Have you ever thought about your faith in this perspective:

Some Theists think Atheists are ignorant of the spiritual forces (God, the God and Goddess, Allah, the gods, whatever you call them) we see so clearly.

But from a logical point of view, most of these things don't make sense. For instance, why would an all good, all powerful God allow so much suffering, why can't we see Allah, how can there be so many views of God if there is only one right one, why do we need a book to show us God, etc.

I know we believe because we have an experience that makes us believe there are these gods (God, Allah, etc) but how can you criticize anyone else for not believing.

Do you see how confusing and illogical our beliefs are?

A few weeks ago, for the first time in my life, I went to a faith healer, and got slammed by The Holy Spirit. The entire experience was awsome~~~beyond words. My whole body trembled from head to toe, and I couldn't stop laughing, or smiling, or both.

Last week I went back, (for a different problem,) and the assistant Pastor touched me, and again I felt The Holy Spirit. (Not as strong as what the senior Pastor had given me,) but I still felt it.

Now, this is hard to explain, so please be patient with me. My question is this: Both times when I was touched with The Holy Spirit, I felt a sensation surging through my veins especially the two main veins in my neck. Like they were bulging, and it lasted for hours and hours, and I was higher than a kite, and my eyes were brighter than bright. Is this normal?

How did you react when *you* were slammed by The Holy Spirit? What were *your* symptoms?

It's kinda scary, but I also want more. Do you?

Do you think that people have a soul? If so, what do you think the soul is? Do animals have souls in your definition? Can machines have souls? Can the soul change states or be altered in any way? Is there a distinction between the mind and the soul? What properties does the soul possess? I'm just curious about what people think of souls. :)

I've heard some arguments from creationists saying that god had to have created us because our bodies are so complex and perfect. That is also an argument for evolution but it goes deeper unlike the creationists'.

If we really are perfect then why would a perfect god make us get goosebumps when we are frightened? It is useful in animals with fur because it makes their hairs stand up so they appear bigger to their predators but is completely useless in humans.

Also why would a perfect god give us an appendix, a completely useless organ? It is larger and useful in herbivores which shows that they could be an ancestor.

Why would a perfect god give us wisdom teeth? As our jaws are getting smaller less teeth can fit in our mouth, which is why they are removed.

Lastly, why would a perfect god give us a coccyx, tail bone? It was useful when our ancestors had tails to help them walk upright, but they are useless now. people have had it removed and they are fine without it.

Okay, I'm an atheist and I'm pro-choice as well as supportive of gay rights. (I'm straight, by the way, I just feel like they should be able to love whoever they like as long as it's of consenting age). Anyway, I was wondering how many other atheists have the same views as I do, or are you against these two things? Just wondering ^_^

I think another difference between atheists and christians is that atheism is (or should be) an ongoing method for examining religious claims. Atheism isn't static. At any time, if contrary evidence is presented, an atheist will become a theist.
However, this is not so for many theists, especially christians.
I can tell you that I've personally had many christians tell me that no matter what evidence is presented, they will not change.
What are your thoughts?

Im not sure if I spelled that right. I have a male Au Pair. Is it customary to have a male or female in the Usa ? ( He drives me around and protects me and my sisters...makes us study...cooks some times ...etc ) I wish we had a female one though....it would be more fun to have a girl au pair and do more female stuff. I get the feeling we also would have more fun and get away with more.
