life doesn't have a purpose. Life IS a purpose..they only one we've got. (that goes for animals too)

yes they have soul. they do pray and praise God. certain animals live with the purpose of the source of food for human, others live as a farmer's helper. and others for the balance of the ecosystem

they clearly exhibit emotions, apes obviously as well. Ths either means they were created specially, or they evolved things similar to us. I would lean towards the latter, so a purpose would be hard to find. They have whatever purpose you give them.

My kitties' purposes are to sit in my lap, purr, keep me warm in bed at night and generally entertain me when i pull out the laser light and let them chase it. And my purpose to them is a servant that cleans their litter box and feeds them everyday.

They don't have souls. They were made for our enjoyment. I think God designed the animal kingdom for many functions (balance of the food chain and ecosystem) but some were just created to either help us accomplish a task (Oxen and horses), food and clothing (cattle and sheep), or companionship (dogs and cats). Although many have multiple reasons for existance.

Their purpose is to teach us about unconditional love.

I don't know if they have souls. They give us food (cows, chickens, fish!), but also they add beauty and interest to our lives and also they are our friends (pets).
