Well, I certainly think that mindset is out there.
I recently saw a post asking how come when loving Christians try to tell people about God they are met with hateful comments such as 'God doesn't exist'?
Now it seems to me that we are talking about two different viewpoints. But one is seen as 'loving' and the other 'hateful'.
So while I try my best to give answers that are respectful, I think that if someone approaches everything with that sort of outlook then they may well feel as if they are being 'got at'.
Thankfully I believe this is a minority view. And for those that are easily offended, I suggest adding 'Christians only please' to the question.

~~~zero ,,, It's all contingent on what the Intention of the atheist is. I NEVER intend to bash ANYone, but I am also NOT responsible for the sensitivities of christians, or anyone else on this forum.
When some Christians hear comments that contradict their belief, they consider the verbal or written responses to be bashing, offensive etc.
Thousands of years ago they would be conduct a public stoning, death by hanging.
We tend to think we live in a more civilized society now. (are we kidding?)
No contrary opinions are not "bashing" , being rude and disrespectful is though. If you give a contrary opinion and are still respectful only the most narrowminded would call that bashing.
Not necessarily. It depends on what you say.
If you ramble off somewhere and rant about off topic issues, then you could be accused of bashing.
Same rules hold for christians replying to atheists.
I'm sure that you mother must have told you at some point that it is not what you say so much as how you say it.
Labeling people with whom you disagree with as "stupid" is not going to get you a favorable response, and you are alienating the very people that you are trying to convince.
It depends on what the response is and what the question is. I don't think it is fair to say that divergent opinions are "bashing," though.
If that were so, a lot of the self-styled Christians bash themselves.
Yes *sob* you're all so mean!
Seriously though, disagree with me all you like I won't be upset. I can take a fair amount of ribbing too, but when it starts to get personal then I take offense.
No...that's not what we consider bashing. What is Christian bashing is when they are calling Christians names. Intelligent discussion that doesn't insult others is not considered bashing and is welcome by most Christians.
