No, they'll take money from anyone.
Christ's "true" Church is a VERY exclusive club..He hand picks the members himself. What are His requirements for entry???...only He himself knows why He loves His people and pulls us out of the world.
I'm a member; but, I have no idea why Christ would choose me to believe in Him and follow his teachings..I certainly didn't earn it. And the requirement is not high income or education...most folks with those (but not all) He rebukes...prior morality is not a prerequisite either...the thief on the cross...Paul murdered Christians before becoming on....etc...and many will be pulled out of religion when the time is right..
You may be a future member yourself and not even know it.
I certainly had no great desire, to serve Him...I used to think that stuff was for priests and the hypocrites I'd seen at religious organizations. I've no logical explanation why the Lord has given me these strange (to my former self and the world) desires for the truth, to obey His commandments, and read on occasion the study the scriptures as much as 18 hours in one day. It still makes no logical sense to the person I was before ...I know now, why it has happened; but, didn't years ago. There is just this overwhelming desire that gets stronger every year for at least the last 12 years (didn't hit me like a hammer, it was subtle and gentle at first) to know everything about the Lord and His Kingdom and what role I'm serve in it (no matter how small it is).

Not exactly. You actually derive a benefit from an exclusive club. Like specialty drinks with little umbrellas and a day at the golf course.
Though I'd expect you'd get with the religion's "in" crowd. But I don't know how much of a benefit this would be.

Some are, but most are not. I am a Christian and as a Christian I can say that we are spreading the Word to eveyone from every walk of life and every corner of the Earth. If a church seems like an exclusive club...go to another church that welcomes everyone. God is no respector of persons.

Only cults and elitist religions are like exclusive clubs, most of the better Christian churches I've been to are very tolerant and open-minded.

Well, Christianity, which is my faith, is not a religion, but rather a way of believing - it is a relationship with Jesus. It is not exclusive to anyone, and in fact is open to ALL who seek to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Just believe, ask Him to come into your heart and to help you to live the way He would want you to live. This "club" is open to everyone and membership is never revoked unless the "member" cancels membership themself.

No. Feel free to visit any and all you want to. Decide for yourself which you like the best. They are not an exclusive club. They are people giving praise, love, to Christ for all they have and all Christ has done for them. Especially the salvation He won for, and offers to, all people. You included.

The first time I went to my Christian Orthodox Church, I was astounded. There were people there of every color, every nationality and speaking in many different languages. There were Ethiopians wearing beautiful draped gauze-like dresses. There were handsome Middle Easterners who looked like Omar Sharif. There were Russians, Greeks, Lebanese, and plain old Americans. It's just the way I always thought a Church should be. Every Pascha (Easter), we celebrate our differences by reading the Bible in many different languages. We all greet each other by saying "Christ is Risen" in many different languages and answering "Indeed He is Risen" in many different languages. This is the way it should be. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ. Christ is the focus and the center of Church life. All are welcome, from the one who toils in the field from the first hour to the one who only comes to the feast at the eleventh hour. All are accepted and welcomed.
