Yes, there is much more and a much deeper reason for me. It is actually alot of a times more a trial and burden then a crutch.

Good question, I wish I could give you the answer you are searching for but since I was brought up catholic and have not had any "glorified" moments in my history, I canot defend this religion or anyother for that matter. If religion is a brain washing that enables us to believe in ideas and concepts that could not consciously exist, I guess I cannot be brainwashed.

good luck to you though in your quest for the answer.

I practice my religion because I feel it fills a spiritual hole in my life, it also goes along well with my own personal beliefs and also I enjoy studying and delving deeper into it.

Religion can be, in it's best form, a search for truth. It is mostly, however, used as a way to medicate oneself in the face of the seeming futility and emptiness of living.

My faith doesn't rely on feelings. It doesn't matter how I feel, it matters what God says. Jesus is my crutch to hold me up in this world. Your feelings can betray you. Emotions can run high or you can feel depressed. One day you can "feel" good and the next you can "feel" bad. Feelings turn your thoughts inward.

religion is like crack, it makes you feel good for an intense short time, then you have the hangover and it leaves you broke too, and you have to hide your face because you have made yourself a fool in front of everyone, it should be out lawed...oh wait...it is...thou shalt not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil-God.
