Would biblical commandment for parents to kill unruly children hold up in court? How about if it was that guy who put the giant 10 commandments on his courthouse lawn...surely he'd understand.

this was written before the time of Christ who was the ultimate sacrificial lamb that came to deliver grace . ancient Israel had a lot of problems & lot of lessons to learn ( as do we ) but their's was a more physical example pointing to the grace of crist to come , now it is a heart felt concience type example made available by jesus & the holy spirit . jesus said let he that is without sin cast the first stone , so if your heart is perfectly without sin ever, if you have never done any wrong at all
( those couple of paperclips that just happened to come home from the office in your jacket pocket - that slightly adjusted tax form )

Religious law should ALWAYS supercede secular law and when there is a conflict between the two, the religious law should be the deciding factor in EVERY circumstance and in EVERY religion.
