My friend, this question has been asked time and time again. Atheism is the lack of belief in a god. God is a subject that pertains to religion. Since atheism pertains to god, and god pertains to religion, atheism falls under the broad category of "Religion & Spirituality."

However, atheism is not a religion; it's an ideology that has to do with religion.

I find it interesting that you seem to be trying to insult atheists by accusing them of religiosity, as though religiosity were, in your eyes, a negative thing.

Atheists are interested in religion because organised religion is the biggest threat to world peace.
Just look at the state of the Middle East, the source of three popular religions.
You people need watching very closely.

this category is Religion and Spirituality. Spirituality does not have to be religious in nature. And if someone has a questions about religion, shouldn't they get both sides of the story, rather than one (generally biased) answer.

so wait let me get this straight.... since we dont believe in god(s) or any religions we cant be in this forum and express our side and our opinions on certain topics? let me ask another question. atheism is the disbelief in god and religion right? doesnt it take a certain amount of faith for some atheists who were raised to believe in god to say there is no supernatural force that governs all live as we know it?

in short. the definition of faith is: "belief that is not based on proof". you cannot prove and we cannot totally disprove the existance of god so by this definition it takes faith to have no belief in anything supernatural

Science is a religion. Most Atheists will admit to believing in what science says. The adherents of the religion of science have as much faith in what scientists state as fact as do people who have believe and have faith in what preachers say about God. They ignore anything that doesn't fit in with their belief system and call those who don't believe as they do ignorant. I'm referring to science that is used as a way of proving that God doesn't exist, which is science falsely called, not the study of the universe that God created.

Well, when people like you call us out we have to defend ourselves. Plus it's really fun asking dumb questions and having religous people with no sense of humor threaten you.
