You say religion is the source of all violence so maybe we should consider atheism a religion.
This happened in China because of their Marxist hatred of religion.

On January 26, 2007, Hua Huidi and his 76-year-old mother were attacked and wounded by seven police officers while walking near a 2008 Olympic hotel site in Beijing, China.

According to China Aid Association (CAA), Hua, an active house-church member in Beijing, and his mother were kicked on the ground and later taken to the Olympic Police Station for questioning. “When Hua asked the police to release his sick mother and explain the legal ground for the detention, he was beaten repeatedly. While the temperature in Beijing was in the 20s, cold water was poured on him. He was later taken to a detention center,” CAA said.

In 1979 in Kanankee Illinois, a UFO was sighted hovering over what was then the Bel-Scott parking lot. It was about 7:30 at on a summer night. The lights that went around in strange patterns were mesmorizing. The few people that were in their cars were getting out to get a better look at the specticle. Traffic stopped on the busy main road by the plaza. In the blink of an eye the craft shot straight up to a white dot in the night sky blending in with the stars.

I was 9 years old, my dad had run into the store to get a brush for our dog, he missed the whole thing.

Do you have a story?

I always had the picture, assuming he were possible & actually did exist, that he is a flaming spirit, sometimes ball of fire, sometimes man-like in form.

Greyish - white hair, long & flowing, raiment of whitest white, blinding to look at.

Not handsome, but not ugly, about average man-size in appearance.

How do you imagine God?

Have you ever wondered if man was created in God's image, I guess a 6 ft tall image, does this mean that giants are taller than God? Is this how Satan fooled heaven?

Being taller & appearing more muscular than God? Are angels taller than God? What do you think he looks like (if he exists).

Be detailed, cause I want to see how different everyone's opinion is. Oh, I am white, so for some reason, I always imagined he was white, but maybe he is mexican?

Has any one read the book or seen the DVD's? (The Measure of A Man) I was wondering what the Authors views are on Moral purity. The work book says that he will teach the difference between temptation and lust....just wondering what his views are, and what he teaches. When it comes to lust, many have quite a difference in what they view as truth.

I'm looking for good books - good suggestions - (not just any random internet search that I can simply do) that compares certain symbols (either archetypes or just basic symbols such as snakes, crescents, caduceus etc...) with different religions. For example, a book that can show the snake symbolism within many religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Abrahamic religions etc... (not just one religion). More like a comparative study of myths and symbols within religions. To clarify - the book does not have to have the snake symbolism, it is only an example. I don't want to limit your suggestions. Can anyone help me out with this?

It is no wonder the world is in such a mess!

Fundamentalist Christians try to fudge back & forth over whether people should be allowed to have freedom to live as they please, or if freedom should be banished under the will of God, sacrificed to do as God wills, not how we wish.

With people being unable to understand why God will punish people for doing things their way, when in fact, it was God's command that they should have free will to do as they wish.

What then, is the justice in punishing those people, for the very things that you told them they should do?

Where is the justification in this? Free will? God's will? God's will IS free will? Free will IS God's will?

No wonder people are confused. You can't give people the right to sin then punish them when they do.

Things have gotten way out of hand, far too complicated. No wonder people have left churches in droves, divided over simplest of matters as these!

Anyone else feel like I do?

How about an Amen! Lol !!!

Will this Category help me to gain an appreciation and understanding of other people’s beliefs ?
Am I allowed to participate in this Category if I am not Religious ?
I grew up with Religion, but stopped believing in it when I got older…
(The result of a disastrous marriage to someone with different Religious beliefs)
Whilst I may not be ‘Religious’ myself… I do respect the right of other people to believe as they choose to believe !

I had the pleasure *sarcasm* of joining my family today for church. I have told my mom countless times that I am atheist but she refuses to believe it, thinking that forcing me to go to church or trying to scare me by say," May god have mercy on your soul" will change my mind. Her logic is that I am allowed to have my beliefs but I have to follow hers. Help! How do I stop her? Do you have any advice to get her to understand my Atheism and has this ever happened to you?

[theos] = [god]
[a][theos] = [without] [god]
-[ist] = English suffix denoting [a person]

[a][the][ist] = [a person] [without] [god]

So now you know why the word is spelled with an 'e' before the 'i.'

Now learn to spell correctly. It's hard to take someone seriously when they don't understand the rules of language.
