You say religion is the source of all violence so maybe we should consider atheism a religion.
This happened in China because of their Marxist hatred of religion.

On January 26, 2007, Hua Huidi and his 76-year-old mother were attacked and wounded by seven police officers while walking near a 2008 Olympic hotel site in Beijing, China.

According to China Aid Association (CAA), Hua, an active house-church member in Beijing, and his mother were kicked on the ground and later taken to the Olympic Police Station for questioning. “When Hua asked the police to release his sick mother and explain the legal ground for the detention, he was beaten repeatedly. While the temperature in Beijing was in the 20s, cold water was poured on him. He was later taken to a detention center,” CAA said.

Paul S.- I personally know people there who are afraid for their lives because of what they believe. I didn't make it up.

Not to mention all the death atheism caused in the 20th century from the Killing fields in Cambodia, to Stalin. Atheism has a built in flaw atheists dont like to talk about because it cannot account for objective moral values. and if morality is subjective, then murdering and oppressing religious folk is only wrong IF you think it is. Otherwise, kill and oppress away!

uh, china is a few million billion Buddhists. Communism is a political ideology that has replaced God with worship of the state. on the different hand, Afghanistan replaced right into a place that replaced the state with God worship, which seems to be what maximum individuals choose for themselves. What may be interesting so you might notice is that the religion maximum persecuted in China is Falun Gong, no longer Christianity. Falun Gong is a mundane meditation cult. The Christians have in certainty sucked as much as Beijing and the Vatican - after a years-long combat - has finally agreed to settle for Beijing appointed Bishops. So, no longer plenty backbone there. Regardless, atheism has no longer something to do with it, being in simple terms a assertion of non-concept in God. No politics there. history has shown that maximum Christians are the 1st sheep to maintain on with a charlatan like Hitler (Germany being ninety 8% Christian on the time). And look what happens once you place a born-back fundie in cost. ought to it get plenty worse than George W. Bush - the worst president in American history??! that's recommended to hit the history books slightly longer until now the huge examination.

That's because religion DOES cause wars. Take a look at Israel and Palestine. What was one of Hitler's main concentrations? However, it does NOT cause all violence. That is an asinine conclusion to make.

And what exactly are you trying you say with the "Atheists in control" BS? Not familiar with separation of church and state? Religion or lack thereof should be kept separate from politics.
One incident in China does not mean Atheists "have control".
Ridiculous.

Hardly.

You are describing a totalitarian and tyrannical legal and political state. It has nothing to do with atheism and everything to do with control. The Chinse government is a paranoid organization that is unable to tolerate any group that might challenge its power. That added to its long history of disregard for the weel-being of its own people adds up to the sort of stuff you're describing. I suppose it's useless for me to point out that freethinkers are also ruthlessly targeted as often as religious groups--accused of "subersive thinking".

Atheists don't want religion outlawed or exterminated. We'd jst prefer that it be kept seperate from state law and education. That's it. We're not communists or totalitarians. Such groups are as much of a threat to us as well as you.

Not that I really expect you to believe it. You've already made up your mind.

This is a very twisted and misinformed argument.

Atheism is lack of belief in a supreme being, not a GOVERNMENT or ECONOMIC system.

China would still be the oppressive nation it is had the government forced Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Buddism, or Elvisism on it's people.

Dude, That ain't about religion. It is about a totalitarian government eliminating any possible organizations of possible opposition. The House-Church system creates a network of secret connections. That is a big no no under any totalitarian rule. No Secrets from your government is rule #1.

I can only assume that Jesus Freak is being facetious

I'm not an atheist, but I don't think it's fair to assume all atheists are guilty of the "Marxist hatred of religion." Quite a few of them, at least in America, have no desire to control the religious beliefs of others.
As for those who do, they're no better than the worst xtian fundies or muslim extremists.

Oh no!

A "House Church?" In China?

We atheists, do not want to force our reason down anyone's throat, like Christians do. The best way, is to present the evidences and let people make informed decisions - if they reject reason, then they are forced to live with their own galactically stupid selves...

If the Chinese are killing Christians, it is because of Communism, not atheism. Atheism is not about control of the masses, it is about truth and logic and reason.

We atheists are not telling people they are going to Hell because they do not believe in an ancient myth.

We atheists refuse to swear allegiance to any God who will destroy us if we don't!!!

I know, I know.... God doesn't destroy and Hell is not such a bad place..... Maroons!

"This happened in China because of their Marxist hatred of religion".

No it didn't.

You just made that up because of your hatred of atheists.

That doesn't reflect very well on religion, does it?
=========================
Yes, you did just make it up. If you could show how "hatred of religion" caused the incident you cited, you'd have included it in your description of the incident. You'd have certainly included it in your response to my challenge. You're just making this stuff up, and you know it. Repeating the lie doesn't help you, and it certainly doesn't help your religion.

There most certainly are people who attack people for their Christianity: why don't you fight against them, instead of making up this nonsense in order to attack atheists?

Here in the United States the majority of believers and essentially ALL atheists are willing to peacefully co-exist. You have chosen to side with those who are not - right there with the Chinese Marxist extremists who attack Christianity. You're on the wrong side, kid.
