[theos] = [god]
[a][theos] = [without] [god]
-[ist] = English suffix denoting [a person]

[a][the][ist] = [a person] [without] [god]

So now you know why the word is spelled with an 'e' before the 'i.'

Now learn to spell correctly. It's hard to take someone seriously when they don't understand the rules of language.

Good lesson but you're probably yodeling into the wind. Also, since there's no question the Y/A informants may out you.

Thanks for the language lesson, but I already know how to spell atheist.
Can you also mention that you have to add an "s" at the end of a word to make it plural? Sometimes they forget that too. Either that or they are simply addressing one atheist.
Peace

athesit, athiest, aethist, I've seen all kinds of horrible permutations.

at-the-ist. There. How frigging hard is that?

Good luck with that. A few people, like Maurice H, do it just because he *thinks* that it pisses off atheists. He's a real winner that one.

Well done. Language is the material with which we think, and should be treated more carefully.

It should be obvious. I hope they get flunked for not being able to spell "receive".

Who votes we spell midge with a "va" instead of "mi"? I dunno, it just rolls out more easily. Who would want to be a midge anyway?
