Would the Church stigmatize rape victims or consider them spoiled or not a good wife for a man from the church due to her past? ( I know it wasn't my fault and all that so no need to tell me that. But to be really honest it would have to come out between the man and the potential bride. Please just answer the question if you will ).

I've often wondered what God is asking me to do. I know Jesus said: If you love me you will keep my commandments. To the best of my abilities I have done that and love the Lord with all my soul.

After much prayer and thinking about what God is asking me to do...the number one thing he wants of me I thought was to be a good person, to study his word, to do his will to seek after the things of God...ALL of these he is asking me to do BUT.......

I have come to understand that the number 1# thing he wants me to do is to, get in his presence.
I really feel God is saying the my calling is to "Get into his
Presence"
Maybe that sounds a little out there....does anyone else feel this way?? Am I out there or off here...that's what I am hearing.....what do you think?

"My scientist friends have come up with things like "principles of uncertainty" and dark holes. They're willing to live inside imagined hypotheses and theories. But many religious folks insist on answers that are always true. We love closure, resolution and clarity, while thinking that we are people of "faith"! How strange that the very word "faith" has come to mean its exact opposite.
People who have really met the Holy are always humble. It's the people who don't know who usually pretend that they do. People who've had any genuine spiritual experience always know they don't know. They are utterly humbled before mystery. They are in awe before the abyss of it all, in wonder at eternity and depth, and a Love, which is incomprehensible to the mind. It is a litmus test for authentic God experience and is -- sadly -- absent from much of our religious conversation today. My belief and comfort is in the depths of Mystery, which should be the very task of religion."- Fr. Richard Rohr

I have a temp job that started last week and ends on Tuesday. Unless the lady I'm filling in for gets a Doctor's approval to come back to work. If she's out until her baby is born, I have 4 months of work....if not I'm back to the same old. wait for the temp agency to find something. (I'm still sending out applications though). This morning during the morning worship service I was convicted that I need to pray for Mrs. Lane and her baby for their health, and that the Lord will take care of the job situation. So will you pray with me for her and the baby's heath?

Thanks.

If so, you are a heathen in their eyes worshiping the wrong God. You shall not inherit heaven. Just as you they claim their beliefs are absolutely correct and have a thousand proofs. Why do you believe your religion is correct and theirs isn't?

Everytime you watch tv or hear of near death experiences or read religious books, they tell you about going into the light and living happily ever after in peace and harmony and wisdom and all that.

But i recently heard that this is actually a trap. That the light leads to a place where the creatures will feast on your soul. That these evil beings are waiting to torture you, once you are out of your physical body. That you will end up in a new illusionary world out of which it will be very hard to escape. And so on.

Do you have more info on this line of thinking?
