I think it's a religious reason. Many say that it's a fact, however, claiming that because it wasn't in the Bible, that it's not true. However, the Bible ALSO doesn't mention that he had to go to the bathroom, that he took baths on a regular basis (as much as you CAN be regular at that time), that he brushed his hair everyday, and in fact, leaves out a big chunk of his life. Are we also to believe that he DIDN'T have to do any of that stuff? Are we to believe that, because only a few women were mentioned by name that they were the ONLY women around Jesus?

I think it was a religious reason, and possibly the fact that a wife wasn't mentioned explicitly is that it was, 1. written after the fact by a bunch of guys who didn't believe that sex could be a holy experience, and 2. written by men who didn't believe that women were worth mentioning UNLESS they'd had some "miracle" attached to them, and ESPECIALLY unless they could continue the idea they were trying to perpetuate, which was that a Jewish man at that time would have forsaken his family and traditions to remain chaste and unnaturally unmarried.

Factual, common sense stuff actually.

Jesus was a Nazarene, a kind of cult which believed in setting apart for God.

Secondly, Jesus compared man to sheep. God is to man as man is to sheep. Imagine that you put on a sheep skin and pretended to be a sheep. Would you marry one? have sex with one? The thought is just ......yuck.

The message Christ gave us would not change at all if Christ had married and had kids, but, there would be a "royal dynasty" similar to any other and people might put faith in those people as opposed to putting their faith in God.

Jesus came to ask us to put our faith in God so having a royal dynasty would be counter productive.

PS: Why would Christians think sex is dirty? Paul did tell people that sex could become such an important drive in a persons life that it was better to not have any than to let it come between you and God. If you could not do without sex you should marry someone of the opposite sex.

People judge Christians based on their idea of the law, usually the law and rules people make. In general Christians should stick with the customs, traditions and law of the people they live with, not because they have to just because it makes witnessing easier.

Paul became like the people he witnessed to and he encouraged people to do the same. Paul witnessed for Christ and could not be convicted on charges of blaspheme against pagan Gods. Read Acts.

It is rejected because they do not want to even think that Jesus had sex. They will not even admit that his mom had sex, which is why they say she had immaculate conception. Very silly. God wanted Jesus to have a woman and to get some and that is what happened. Jesus was hot, why shouldn't he be married. It does not make him any less of a man.

There is no indication at all that he was married. At the same time why would a man who knew that he was going to be crucified get married and have a child. That would be pretty irresponsible would it not? Fact or religion? You be the judge!

No matter what those so-called archaeologists or scientists say, Jesus was never married
His mission was to do His Father's will. He came to point us in the right direction and that
we might be saved {through belief in Him} and spend eternity with Him.

Jesus was not married. That's a fact.

And to the person who said that Christians think sex is dirty: You are absolutely wrong. Sex is great. God made sex. But He made it so that it can be enjoyed by married couples. Sex out of it's context is perverted.
