Well, it's a combination of things. Most of which is, I do not believe that I have to answer to anyone for the way I live my life. I spent the first half of my childhood being forced to sit in Sunday School and regular church, and forced to listen to things that I just didn't agree with. To me, the Bible is just a book written by men, and Hell is just something made up to keep the masses in line.
However, I am not putting down any religion, that is against my own beliefs. I firmly believe that everyone should have faith in what gives them comfort and strength, and that everyone has the right to question things. There is so much beauty in the world that goes by the wayside because people are so concerned with things like this... It's sad.

I don't know if it's laziness or lack of discipline, but I have always had trouble staying the course. Sometimes I feel as though I don't belong there and get discouraged. I don't believe anything can keep you from getting saved. Like some people say that when they quit smoking, cursing, using drugs etc, then they will follow the Lord, but that is not true. You come to him humbly, just as you are, everything else will fall into place if you are sincere.

Who's going to not worship God because of smoking or dancing? I'd add logic and reason to that list; that's why a lot of people don't believe in God.
I do believe in God myself, but I don't 'serve' Him per se, and my God certainly isn't the same as yours. If the only thing to maintain my belief was fear of hell, I would have gone back to atheism ages ago.

How do you serve someone who does not exist?
And, I like the way you linked atheism in with drugs, booze, ignorance, confusion, and the lot. You're the kind of person who likely assumes all atheist have never read the bible, and know nothing about your religion.
Moving on...

I never know which one to worship. Vishnu, Christian God, Allah, Zoltar, Zeus, Odin, FSM or Ra. Plus the obvious fact that most 'holy books' are ancient origin stories, reiterated and mutated over the years.
