I have never read the KJV Bible other than pieces here and there. I study the Bible a lot but I do not really read it from the beginning to the end. I went through listening the Message Bible last summer, the New Testament part And I am in the process of listening the Old Testament now. I have also NIV as tapes.

There is a Bible in a year program. In a book. Or through the internet. ( WalkthrutheBible)

I haven't read the entire KJV, although I have used it as a comparative translation for many passages. I used the NRSV for the most part and also owned more than a dozen different versions at one point.

The concentrated phase of my study was four years, although it took me about three more to get through the Nag Hammadi materials and the 'lost' gospels.

Thanks for calling it the Christian bible. The Jewish one is different, especially in translation.

No one really knows what the "whole Christian Bible" entails... there are so many sects and differing beliefs as to which books comprise the Bible and which do not.

I have read the King James Version.

If you read it like any other novel, it wouldn't take you but a few days. However, if you're looking to get a good study out of the reading, you'd do well to follow a reading plan. You can Google "Bible Reading Plan" and find one tailered just for your needs.

To read the whole bible cover to cover takes some time. It's not soemthing that you can read in a day if you are a busy person. I have read the whole bible cover to cover but it takes time. It depends on your schedule. If you can dedicate a lot of time to it then you could be able to breeze through it.

I read the KJV when I was about 12 years old and I think it took about a month. I read the NIV when I was 15 and 20 and each time took about a week of solid reading and cross referencing.

It isn't how long it takes to read it. It is about what you get out of reading it. There are ways of reading it in a year's time, and I would suggest using every bit of that year to get the most out of the Bible. My older Brother read it in 6 months time and all he got was confused!! Take your time with it! Get the most out of it. Reread portions if they don't make sense. There isn't a time limit on it. God Bless you in Jesus name.

Yes, I don't know because I've been reading it again and again. I'm not even sure how many times I've gone through.

I did in two separate nights read the whole new testament.

I have read it, and every now and again I hear passages from it when my mom is reading it out loud in her room. I like to be well informed before I speak my mind on things.
