What is defined under that statement? I know that having sex before marriage, while on your cycle, prostitution, and adultry are listed under sexual immorality. I am a parent I want to be able to explain in detail what God means to my children. Can anyone help me?

I do not need anyone to tell me that this guy was a fool or that I believe in the tooth fairy, however i have always thought it was an interesting statement. Please have a think about it and reply in terms of philospical/theological/sociological thinking.

Me: If I'm Christian what do you believe in?

Him: I dont believe in anything

Me: So you're an Athiest then?

Him: (Agressively) No! I told you I dont believe in anything like that.

I know God probably has a better idea of what is best for the world than I do and all but I just figured that starvation was a bad thing.....

I guess that since he hasn't done it yet perhaps it isn't the right time....

"The U.N. World Food Program (WFP) said in December that more than 38 million people across Africa are at risk of starvation."

"The United States and other Western governments spent millions of dollars to send grain surpluses to Ethiopia then. Aid workers contend that money would have been better spent on long-term solutions such as irrigation."

If you arrived at your church and saw someone sitting on the church steps, they looked a bit upset, they looked disheavled, maybe sad, maybe even dirty. Would you walk right past them? Would you immediatly judge them? Would you stop and talk to them? Would you welcome them in? Would you sit with them? What would you do?

Why are there no stories of Jesus as a child? Was he told he was god? Or did he already know? I find the whole bible to be rather convenient

have you noticed how the world complains about Christians not tolerating anything, while it tolerates everything BUT Christianity? have you noticed that they want the Bible (which says to "love one another" and "dont kill" and "dont steal") out of schools and off the radio? i was pretty sure it was called freedom OF religion, not freedom FROM religion. am i the only one that sees this happening?

Just wondering, NOT bashing! Every athiest I know or am friends with is very adamant about their athiesm. That's fine, I support that as it is everyone's right to believe what they want. However, around the holidays, they all tell me their big plans for Christmas...what they want, what they gave, the dinner that they're hosting, etc....and yes, they use the word "Christmas" when referring to their plans. I've asked them about this, and they really can't give me an answer. Do all athiests celebrate holidays with a religious background, and why? Again...I'm all about freedom of religion and diversity! Just wondering if someone can answer this without thinking I'm attacking athiests.

I really want to believe, however when a look at the past of this county of slavey and until the mid-sixties segregation , all of the problems that are in the world today, 9-11, hurricanes, tornados, tsunamis, rapes, murders, cancer, aids, terror, homeless kids, i want to believe but would a god who loves everyone have this happen on his earth. did god want there to segregation, did he want planes to crash into building on 9-11, did he want kids washed away in the tsunami. if he exist, why is this world such a bad and dangerous place and getting worse by the day.

What if some people are supposed to deny God in order to make the believers stand out? (kind of like Calvinism but not quite)

If we assume that hell was not everlasting for the individual soul, then this form of predestination would seem to work.

What do you think?

Note: Don't bother calling me a "believer in fairy tales" because I'm making this up. That counts as creativity, not delusion.

i saw something last night that really disturbed me. children at church were being taught evolution is fake and creation is real. afterwards they were given an oral test on what they believe. these kids were just rattling off what they were told and still had a look of confusion. when asked why they believe in creation they questionably answered back, because they bible says so, like they were hoping to get the right answer. is that fair? or another form of brainwashing?

If your beliefs are true you will go to heaven the kingdom of cruel tyrant God and we will be going to hell with great Satan.
Satan is a better person to me than God. The reason why he tempted Adam and Eve to eat the forbidden fruit was explained in a book called Book of Adam and Eve( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banned_from_the_Bible ). The book also alleges that God made all his angels bow down to his greatest creation - Adam. Satan refused to bow to someone who is inferior to him and made later. If God respected the right to equality why should he ask Stan to do it? The only wrong Satan did was tempting Eve to eat the cursed fruit. I think that is not a crime done to humanity but a help given to it. I would rather be an intelligent man with eternel death than walking naked in the garden of Eden.
Satan was a person who fought against a tyrant who had a habit of killing people as shown in great flood. We atheists will be martyrs who will die along with Satan fighting a tyrant.

Hello.
I would particularly like help from a Biblical perpective, but general help would also be appreciated.
I am extremely jealous of a girl, a few months older than me. For 8 months into our relationship and for many months before, my boyfriend was in love with her.
She's unbelievably beautiful, and nice to everyone. She's in a band, she's confident, she has whatever she wants.

I shouldn't be jealous of her, I should be happy for her, but just thinking about her makes me feel physically sick with jealousy. I am not as pretty as her, I don't have her patience, and for all the things I did for my boyfriend, all he could think about was her, though I forgive him for that, because you can't help who you love. But every guy wants to be with her, every girl wants to be her... and I just don't want to be jealous anymore.

Help?
x

Once he went to seminary and has that degree, does he now possess the Holy Spirit? Then why do all Pentacostal pastors have the quote/unquote gift to slay people in the spirit and heal and prophesy and interpret tongues? I am a Christian but I wonder how this is possible. I thought God gives diverse gifts of the spirit to whom He will, not that everyone who graduates pentacostal seminary gets all of those gifts.
