There is not a lot of info on the life of Jesus as a child, there has only been a couple of comments about him when he was vary young, the scribes that wrote the bible were given the stories after the fact, and many of those stories were already a few hundred years old, we can ask for answers regarding the bible till we are blue in the face, and we will never receive a true answer, and because there is no man alive today that has actual fact that it is all true, all they do is speculate, and interpret the bible, and we all know how well that goes over.

Well it is interesting that we don't have more information of Jesus as a Child. Some heretics later on created some books known as the infancy Gospel of Thomas, and other childhood gospels. Though secular and Christian scholars agree that this book in not genuine.
As a very young child I do not believe that he knew he was God. I think Jesus did have maturing to do. I believe Jesus had to learn certain things. At some point his parents told him about his amazing birth and he became to realize that he was in fact the Son of God. Notice Jesus did not start his ministry until he was 30. I think a lot of these questions we ask, were being developed in Jesus of Nazareth, and it was not until he was 30 until he had fully realized his mission.
The Bible does say he was already teaching in the Synagogue at the tender age of 12, so he had special gifts.
However, just because this period of his life is not included I do not see why that the Bible is "convenient" as you say. The Bible is not mean to be a biography of Jesus of Nazareth. The Gospels are meant to display the ministry and teachings of Jesus, which did not start until he was 30. The birth, and any other information is included to validate who he was and to give some background.

The reason there are no stories of Jesus when he was young is because no one really knew him.
Jesus was just like you and I, his own words, and he found himself.... period.
Christianity didn't start pushing Jesus until they needed, (because no one was wanting to be a christian) someone to be a savior of all, so about two generations after his death they started proclaiming Jesus was the first Christian... And actually if you really look into the creation of the bible you will find that they took stories of Buddha and Krishna's birth and told a wonderful tale about Mary ect ect.... They knew some about him but mostly they filled in the gaps with imagination, or whatever they felt was most profitable to them.
Isn't it funny that they celebrate his death, and not his life. Every church you go to has the poor man hung on the wall, saying remember me in sorrow, as the pitiful one who was put up on the cross for all to see...... Lol, they should celebrate the Resurrection!!! Celebrate Life??? oh well.........

A convenient way to offer you eternal life without cost to you. I'm not sure Jesus found it at all convenient to be hanging from a cross while people spit on Him. If you don't want to believe in the Bible that's fine, don't read it. Amazing how something that cost you nothing may end up costing you everything!

Actually, the Gospel of Luke Chapter 2, tells of an experience of Jesus as a Child. There are also other accounts of his childhood in some of the Gnostic Gospels (I believe in the Gospel of James and the Gospel of Mary).
There is some known of his youth, but more importantly, the teachings of his ministry are documented.

There are a few stories of Jesus' childhood. I remember one where Mary and Joseph found that Jesus was missing somewhere around 7- 12 yrs old. They found him in the church talking with the religious leaders.

The Bible became a cannon around 400 A.D. Cannon is not a big gun that fires a cannon ball. In religion, it refers to a text that a council of churchmen voted works into. In other words, they chose what would go in and what writings would not go into it.
Check out the Gnostic texts. Those are the ones that were ommited. Eg. Gospel of Thomas, Enoch, ect.

jesus' ministry didn't begin until his late twenties. his childhood to early adulthood is insignificant compared to what he did in merely a couple of years at the end of his life. the bible does refer to a story about his when he was around twelve years old. his earthly parents were in a caravan on their way back from the tabernacle when they realized jesus was not with them. they found him in the temple where they questioned him as to why he stayed behind and he said he was doing his father's will.

the council of nicea is when the books that made it in the Bible were chosen. Supposedly, they were cut because they made indication that Jesus was a human being, and that he sinned like the rest of us. I don't know if all is true, but look up the counil of nicea and read about it.
