i try to, but "some" Christan's often insult my intelligences first, and I can tell you, my IQ is anything but low.
Treat others as you would like to be treated. Correct?
Just because I don't believe in what I view as a fairy tail, most feel that constitutes an open window for persecution to me. They send derogatory questions up, and I answer them in the same way as asked.
You asked respectfully, thus I answer respectfully.
Thank you.

It is really hard to get people to agree to disagree, those that do though are the people you can really communicate with because I have found them to have open minds and will discuss issues intelligently, for many people it is easier to mud sling than make intelligent comments.

Yes, you are absolutely right. When a christian is under attack the reply is often not what God wants us to do because we live in the 'flesh'. Hence, we should pray before answering and asking the holy spirit to guide us to reason together so that we can be a worthy example of the faith we represent. Thank you.

I don't recall the exact words of this quote but will muddle through it.
When you can't get anywhere arguing the facts, argue the logic, if that doesn't work do an ad hominem attack on your opposition.
Mind you, I'm not suggesting this twisted approach. I'm only reminding you of how the twisted approach an issue.
An ad hominem attack is a personal attack on an opponent, such as asking if they have stopped beating their children yet.

Since when have those who believe in or practice a Religious faith ever responded to logic and reason and kindness.
As soon as you ask a genuine question about their faith they attack with insults, threats and accuse you of persecuting them by questioning their faith.
At least it is better than the old days when they used to burn you as a heretic.
But for those in certain societies those days are still here.
In certain Islamic countries possession of a bible merits the death sentence
.
In certain African countries, question the word of god and the locals will hack you to death.
I would love to have rational discourse with those of faith, but religion by it's very nature is intolerant and divisive.
Those of faith do not wish to argue, just to covert those they can, kill those they cant and move on.

I agree with that and I'm not in the fight.
Be nice.
The other side is to be hateful.
If your wish is to with the Lord Jesus, you must act as you are worthy of being there.
Hope and belief triumphs over hate and despair.

As we disagree, we still need to respect each others beliefs (whatever they may be). Treat everyone with tolerance, with the exception of when the other is spreading intolerance.

Here? With all the trolls of ALL varieties? Doubtful. And they revel in it. I called one on his 'complaint', and he freely admitted that this was his only purpose in posting. Even gave me 10 pts for it.
I'd really prefer a civil discourse, but that's apparently asking too much.

You can't use logic and reason to argue with religion. That's why the mud-slinging occurs.
Unfortunately.
