People have referred to me as Spiritual which just means easy going and open minded to me.

What is it in your opinion?

Yea yea I love god and all that stuff but hey man i want to know how much mooola i can make out of this considering most christian people are very genourous. I tried doing a market research and to see how much church competition is out there and whewwww! there is alot! I was thinking of different ideas like an online website donation where I will pray for them for like 10 dollars a pop. I could also have GoogleAdsense revenues as well.

Another idea was to sell baskets of Sunday chicken at the door when my followers leave the church and fry it at home to save on labors ( get my wife to cook it LOL). Anyway, think i would make a killing that way.

In Christianity Jesus and the New Testament seem to bring redemption from original sin - in religions other than Christianity, is there a call to or mandate for redemeption from the original sinful state of man, or does this concept exist in other religions?

Or is there some comparable concept?

And please, people, don't trash our religion, because people have a tendency to make up stuff about us that is downright ridiculous. Thanks!

Is it actually possible to claim 100% accuracy with two contrasting beliefs? Can either the atheist or the theist claim this, or can neither or both? This is a continuation to a recent question asking people to rate their own faith, and most people, atheists and theists, claimed to be 100% positive their own beliefs are correct. Are such claims not arrogant, not egotistical to an extreme?

And why do some Protestants believe that Hell is real, and other kinds of Protestants believe that Hell isn't real?

Some Protestants believe strongly that homosexual activity and abortion are an abomination to God while other Protestants think that there is no such thing as a sin and that we will all go to Heaven no matter what we do.

Some Protestants believe that it's important to gather to worship God while others don't think that praying is necessary, etc.

As Christians, doesn't it make a huge difference to our salvation to know the truth about these kinds of things? Why do Protestants disagree on so many important doctrines of Christianity? Do some people believe that God would want His Church to be so confused and divided about the gospel when our eternal salvation is at stake? Can I get an Amen?

I was praying last night. I asked God to help me on Yahoo answers today. He said that someone hear needs to know that he loves them. That he had you personally in mind when he went to the Cross and bore your sins in his body on the tree. You are important to him. You will never stop thinking. Your name is in the Book of Life until you take it out by unbelief in the saving work of Jesus Christ. He has a plan and a purpose for your life.
"He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not believe in the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him" ( John 3:36)

Many seem to assume that God doesn't control every detail in the universe, but he allows natural laws to control most of it. How does one know when one is observing natural laws in action or God's hand?
How can I observe this difference when I see an event occuring (hurricane, tornado, radiant light)? What makes it stand out as God's doing?

Believers only please, I can assume the alternate response. Thanks!

If the Bible is the inerrant word of "God", why does it contain so many factual errors and contradictions, such as the two contradictory accounts of Creation in Genesis?

I am a person who loves Jesus with all my heart. He is the Risen Lord. He died for our sins and to give us life everlasting.

However, after much study and thought, and much prayer, I have concluded that evolution probably occurred, that it was God's amazing method of creating the incredible diversity of life on this Earth.

I just asked here at Yahoo Answers if, though I have come to believe in evolution, I am still saved by the grace and forgiveness of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I was surprised by the number of people who said no. Some of them said that you have to believe the entire book to be saved.

Can this be possible? That though the grace and glory of a just and loving God, a murderer can be forgiven, but a person who believes in evolution cannot be?

I ask this question in the name of Jesus Christ. All Praise to the Lord.

It's me old Billy C again with another question for ya if ya have the time to answer.

Well I live in the south where there are a lot of baptists and such and they are big on sending their young ones to bible camps in the summer time. Well a couple of years ago some of the kids from one of the big old baptist churches went to bible camp for a couple of weeks and had a good old time and all learning about religion and Jesus and all and how if you just put all of your faith in Jesus anything would be possible for you because he would never let bad things happen to someone that believed hard enough.
As I said they all had a good old time at camp, but on the way home while going down the highway at 65mph one of the kids, a 14 year old decided that he could step out of the back of that bus and Jesus would keep him safe, he did his part and stepped out, but sadly Jesus didn't show up to do his part, so my question is where was Jesus when this happened, and is faith really worth spit?

1. I am 100% certain of the existence of God.

2. I cannot ever be certain of his existence but I believe strongly that he does and live my life accordingly.

3. I am quite uncertain, but I would prefer to believe there is a god than that there is not.

4. Perfectly agnostic - it is equally likely as not that a god exists.

5. I don't know whether god exists or not but I doubt it.

6. It's not possible ever to be 100% certain of his non-existence but I am as sure as it is possible to be based on the evidence that there is no god.

7. I am 100% certain that god does not exist.

This is not my list, I've borrowed it, but it looks like a good template for guaging the spectrum of opinion on this forum.

Leading thinkers say that people's fascination for religion and superstition will disappear within a few decades as television and the internet make it easier to get information, and scientists get closer to discovering a final theory of everything.

The web magazine Edge (www.edge.org) asked more than 150 scientists and intellectuals: "What are you optimistic about?" Answers included hope for the end of organised religion and growth of enlightenment.

As a born again christian I am deeply saddened by this vision of the future.

If I were to not have my religion any longer, I would not be able to go to church, pray or hate gays and moslems. Thus my life would have no meaning any longer.

Who else thinks this future trend will leave them in a bad way?

So, so you think you can tell
Heaven from Hell,
Blue sky's from pain.
Can you tell a green field
From a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?

And did they get you to trade
Your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange
A walk on part in the war
For a lead role in a cage?

How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We're just two lost souls
Swimming in a fish bowl,
Year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have we found?
The same old fears.
Wish you were here.
