1. I am 100% certain of the existence of God.

2. I cannot ever be certain of his existence but I believe strongly that he does and live my life accordingly.

3. I am quite uncertain, but I would prefer to believe there is a god than that there is not.

4. Perfectly agnostic - it is equally likely as not that a god exists.

5. I don't know whether god exists or not but I doubt it.

6. It's not possible ever to be 100% certain of his non-existence but I am as sure as it is possible to be based on the evidence that there is no god.

7. I am 100% certain that god does not exist.

This is not my list, I've borrowed it, but it looks like a good template for guaging the spectrum of opinion on this forum.

The scale does not specify which god it refers to - there is no grounds for assuming it is the Abrahamic god. If you believe firmly in the existence of Zeus but no other god, then I'd assume you were a 1 as well.

Andrew C's logic is wonderful - since he is a 7 with regards every other god but his own!

Andrew C, for the same reason it is not possible to be, as you claim, a 1. That logic still working for ya?

I call myself a 6.5. Like Richard Dawkins, I believe that 7 is a futile position, just as 1 is.

Footprint indicates passing. And the creation indicates God, the only one creator.
Can there be a ship sailing in the great seas with no sailor?
So how can that large universe be with no God controlling it.
Look at that wide sky and ask how could this be created, and who could create.
Look at the Earth, the planets, and what is happening in the large universe space, how all of this come with no creator?
And look at your self, look at your brain, all of you, who created you and you were nothing mentioned before.
For the question my answer is no.1, I am 100% certain of the existence of God.
And even all of the human beings claimed that there is no God, I won't never doubt about the only one creator, the creator of all the creation, their God and their Lord, "Allah".

None of them apply.

As an atheists, I need prove nothing. If it hasn't been proven to exist then it _doesn't_ exist. The religious have never proved their claims, not in the past and not now.

And in case you weren't aware my position on the god-myth requires and is _exactly_ the same burden of proof as in a court of law: innocent until proven guilty, the defendant need prove nothing, it is up to a prosecutor to prove his claims.

Ain't it funny how the religious want that burden of proof for themselves, but not for their "god"? If they had any courage and weren't hypocrites, they'd accept the same for both. Either:

1) They can claim their "god" is true and accept being _guilty_ until proven innocent.

2) They are innnocent until proven guilty _and_ they can believe there's a "god" but must admit they can't prove it.

Intellectual honesty has never been the strong suit of religion.

I don't think my beliefs actually fit on that spectrum. I'd say between 4 and 5, but honestly...wih my belief structure, such as it is, it runs from 1 to 7 on any given day (and often changes throughout the course of the day). I really don't feel comfortable with any of the options.

I will go with 3 - or between 2 & 3

I would prefer to beleive in a supreme being that created the universe, rather than me being just an act of randomness descended from monkeys.

I am the first kind. There is no such thing as number seven. In order to be 100% sure that there is no God you would have to know 100% of everything.

Bad Liberal you failed to notice that I did not specify any particular God. The logic is wonderful, if you don't know everything then you cannot know positively that something doesn't exist. The most you could be on this scale is a 6.

Bad Liberal, again you are guilty of the bad logic of which you so emphatically accuse me. To absolutely know that there is no God whatsoever you need to know everything, obviously. To absolutely know that there is a God, all you have to know is one thing. That there is a God.

Number 5 for me. I can't be 100% sure whether god exists or not but I highly doubt it.
