It's a word that, by itself, means nothing. The gospel of Jesus is the only kind of true spirituality. Anything else is a false spirituality and even potentially dangerous because it could be an evil spirit that someone can open themselves up to.

According to the Bible, unless you are born of the Spirit, you are still spiritually dead. (John 3:1-7; Ephesians 2:1-10)

Well "spiritual" to me generally means "regarding Reality or Truth"; for example, to me many religions (e.g., Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc.) are spiritual because to me they are various expressions of the same Truth, or the same one God, in different languages, at different times, in different places, in different cultures, through different God-inspired or God-knowing personalities like Jesus, Buddha, Mohammad, Krishna, etc.
But in the context you mean I think "spiritual" means someone that is relatively more pure and good and holy or close to God/Spirit/Truth (which I think being easy going and open-minded has a big part in, sometimes otherwise expressed in spiritual terms as "non-attached", "dispassionate", "in the present moment", "non-judgemental", expansive as opposed to contractive in their heart/mind/consciousness, etc.)

Spirituality is a way ,apart from any religious way, to understand god and ultimately find him on ones own terms.

I'm spiritual and actually prefer the term soulful over spiritual.
To me being spiritual (or soulful) means the focus on the growth of the spirit and soul.
That focus being honoring, celebrating and valuing life, lifeforce and life energy.
Being in tune with the energy of hope, faith, Love, happiness.
Natural joy not having to be brought about by material things.
Desiring to open your soul to connect with the greater One (God), universe, the energy of Oneness.
Desire to ' awaken ' one's spirit / soul for the purpose of connecting to other energies of spirit / soul. By connecting with those of others...the greatness of the energy of all is enhanced more. Love grows, joy grows.
To connect with Oneness, as we are all One. Connected energies of Oneness.
Desired goal . . . Pure, true, authentic happiness, the felt realness of authentic Pure Love.
God is Love. We are not God, yet we are OF God.
Thus the connectnedness, seeking out (re)awakening of our Spirituality.

Sounds about right. religious would mean having a set of beliefs which you hold on to rigidly. Stay spiritual!
