Is that scripturally sound? I had been taught that a person is dead in sin until they accept Christ, not the other way around.

The day before I gave my life to Christ, I asked God if he was really there to show me some sign. Instantly, I felt some adrenaline kind of feeling. I couldn't get past it. Everyone I met and everthing that happened seemed to be in a cloud. At my first chance I dropped to my knees and gave my life. Nothing has been the same since.
