The Jews were waiting for their Messiah to deliver them from Roman rule.
They didn't realize that Jesus did that and so much more.

Well most probably instead of making the decision themselves or investigating the basis for accepting him, follow the tradition of those that rejected Him and were taught to do so.
There really are a great many reasons why they should accept Jesus, that should prove to Jew and non Jew alike the truthfulness of Jesus Messiah.
Anyone other than Jesus who has ever come to be called a possible Messiah has withered away as nothing. The time during which Christ Jesus walked the was the time of great expectation for Him(a Messiah). After this time the omen of the temple being permanently destroyed came to pass, after Jesus. Also Jesus has had more success and brought more glory to the God of Israel than Moses through bringing in the Gentile nations.Jesus has been the cause of many all over the world leaving their idols and coming to worship the God of Abrahham ,Isaac, and Jacob.
What they have to do is look passed the surface obstacles and do a real investigation. Is it possible to think that God doesn't have a hand in something so huge and done specifically in His name? When this same Deity used Moses and now someone has done even greater things than Moses, is not God with him?
Read Isaiah chapter 53 and also Jer31:31-34

Most Jews today do not study Christianity. But those who do, when they learn the truths found in the Bible, all the prophecies that He fulfilled ...from Isaiah and Psalms and many of the prophetic books...they realize that Jesus truly was and is the Messiah. Some become Christians, and some call themselves Messianic Jews. They love Yeshua. Years ago I lived with several Jewish families working as a nanny. They were taught in the synagogue and Hebrew school that Jesus did not really die... that he did not rise from the dead... that his disciples stole his body. Most never read the Bible. They just trusted what they were taught. Some were angry with Christians for blaming them for killing Jesus. But true Christians don't do that. They know Jesus had to die for our sin. His death was necessary and it was part of God's ultimate plan.

Hello =)
Many did. They were the original Christians, and, under Jesus' Brother, came to form the Church of Jerusalem.
Those who did not, continued to be Jews.
This is why one must always consider that there is such a small difference between Jews and Christians, fundamentally.
The Jews who did not consider Jesus to be the Messiah, either thought him to be a prophet, or a madman.
Once the Roman Empire became Christian, these Jews were horribly persecuted, for their refusal to believe. Just one more notch on the belt of the Roman Church, really. This is the reason they fled throughout the European nations that were not occupied by Rome, and lived there, with only relative persecution from time to time, until the Anti-Semitism of the 19th century began, which ended in Hitler's madness, in the 20th Century.
Namaste, and Happy New Year,

Not all Jews have rejected Him (ever heard of Messianic Jews or Jews for Jesus?) As for the rest, it was prophesiesed that He would be rejecte by His own people. Maybe it was just too unbelievable that the Messiah was a poor and humble carpenter.
Also, many of the Jews misinterpreted the prophesies and thought that He would come and overthrow Rome and establish His kingdom on Earth in Israel. When He didn't do that, they lost faith in Him.
Jesus also said things that certian Jews did not want to hear. For example, He criticized the Pharisees (Jewish priests) and said that they were hypocrites. Some were too proud to accept Him.

Because many believed that Jesus would bring about a physical kindom on earth, much like Judas did. They wanted the messiah to deliver them from the romans and free them much like Moses did in Egypt. The Jews also believed that God could not take the form of a man(Jesus).
The kindom that Jesus gave to us was not of this earth and the bondage that he freed us from is the bondage of death which is the result of sin.
Annas and Caiaphas, the high priests, and the controlling members of the Sanhedrin, who were mainly Sadducees, the Pharisees (also enemies of Jesus) being in the minority, were the cause. These Sadducees were the Protestants of Jewry. The leading authoritative Jewish writings inform us, as you very likely know, that they opposed many of the primary Old Testament teachings that Jesus advocated. They denied belief in spiritual beings, the immortality of the human soul, a future life of rewards and punishments, and the resurrection of the body. They ignored the Messianic teachings of Moses and the prophets, and looked forward for freedom from Rome rather than emancipation from the affliction of original sin. The Sadducees were a wealthy class, who were hated by the Jewish populace. Jesus openly warned the people to "beware" of them (St. Matt. 16:6).
Jesus gave his people (those who have faith in Him) the eternal kingdom, a kingdom not of this world.
Jesus is from the line of David according to the genealogy of Christ : Luke 3:23-38 and Matthew 1:1-17

firstly... no jewish people believe in jesus as the messiah. if they come to believe that, then they are no longer jewish. anyone who tells you that you can be jewish, and believe in jesus is a liar.
to put it rather simply, Jesus, ESPECIALLY as christians believe in him, was not the messiah of judaism. the jewish messiah was never meant to be "the savior" but merely a man. not more divine, not a sacrifice, not God, a MAN and a great leader.
the IDEA of a "son of god" that is more divine than other humans is idolotry by jewish standards, and it was NEVER what the messiah was supposed to be.
some christians say that it was spiritual salvation not physical... but that really makes NO sense. Judaism ALREADY HAD spiritual salvation. it was the physical part that was the problem!
its not a matter of what he was by blood or what his profession is or any of that nonsense, its simply that he did not fulfill the qualifications, and he did NOT fulfill the prophecys.
>>"This is why one must always consider that there is such a small difference between Jews and Christians, fundamentally. "<<
that is completely untrue, there are MASSIVE differences. Christianity over time adopted massive amounts of pagan tradition and belief as a means to convert people, was changed, and altered at man's will over and over. Christianity as mostpeople belive in it now is more pagan than abrahamic, and is simply nothing more than Polytheistic idolotry.
>>"But those who do, when they learn the truths found in the Bible, all the prophecies that He fulfilled ...from Isaiah and Psalms and many of the prophetic books...they realize that Jesus truly was and is the Messiah."<<
actually quite the contrary. those who are informed and knwo their own beliefs even trivially, and aren't preyed upon by charismatic, deceietful people only find how much more idolotorous christianity is in the way most see it, and how much more definitionally untrue it is.
simply put, your full of crap. why would jews be taught anything about jesus at all? I don't think god will be happy with your trying to convert people away from him with your lies.
the God of judaism would have no use for a human sacrifice, or incarnating like that, or any of those things. he did NOT need a sacrifice to forgive, he did NOT have an eternal hell, and only needs to make one "trip" to do all of it. none of this 2 trips nonsense.

The leaders of that day didn't want the power to shift away from them, so they killed Jesus (temporarily, of course). Others talk about how He was supposed to come with sword in hand or something like that (I don't have my Bible with me right now), but didn't realize that Jesus caused a revolution in the way people think. He said He did not come to preach peace, but to turn father against son, mother against daughter and brother against brother. Again, I don't have my Bible handy right now so it's more of a paraphrase. Please feel free to look all this up yourself. Also, it's very difficult to cast off the beliefs and traditions that go waaaay back. I would think that some people rejected him just because He was different from what they knew.

considering the fact that we don't think we (or each and all of us else) is lost, and we don't think in a Christian-style heaven, it is not some thing we difficulty approximately. quite than demanding approximately stepping right into a heaven we don't probable have self assurance in, we are plenty extra in contact approximately making the present international right into a extra helpful place. The concept of "tikkun olam" - "healing the international" - is maximum magnificent in Jewish regulation and thinking. all of us comprehend that there is no longer something that can seperate us from Ha Shem. to help others, to maintain ourselves healthful, and to maintain the actual international healthful - all are the priorities of Judaism. We have self assurance that there are righteous persons of all faiths, and that each and all and sundry righteous persons could have a place interior the international back. that isn't heaven - it is in basic terms a state of oneness with G-d - and what might desire to be extra heavenly? Shalom!

Jews do not accept Jesus as the messiah because:
1) Jesus did not fulfill the messianic prophecies.
2) Jesus did not embody the personal qualifications of the Messiah.
3) Biblical verses "referring" to Jesus are mistranslations.
4) Jewish belief is based on national revelation.
