This is something I wonder about for awhile. While Christianity is a religion as a whole, I know that the religion separates into different sects. Ex: Baptist, Pentecostal, Lutheran, Catholic, etc. I understand a few differences between some of the sects. But I don't understand why some of these sects, don't get along sometimes. For instance, my Baptist grandmother can't stand Lutherans saying that they don't really believe in the word of God. I mean, they all believe in the same thing right? I was just wondering if anyone could enlighten me on this.

Only when something good happens religious people say it's from God, otherwise....! Since God controls the entire universe aren't they contradicting themselves?

Please read the question and answer the question that I specifically ask. Please do not “paste” one of your long @ss generic answers, as this show a complete lack of thinking.

Now, what if I only believe parts of the “teachings”? They say that God knows what’s in my heart, so there is no way of fooling him. What if I can’t swallow the “whole tarantula”? What if my mind is opened past the point of no return???

According to Wikipedia, a schism is grounds for an automatic excommunication from the Roman Catholic Church. So my question is, in 1054 (the East-West Schism), were those who became Eastern Orthdox excommunicated?

I know that feeling, I know the feeling of the "missing Piece" Mine was a horrible drunk that was abusive beyond description. I want to share what I have learned. Be the father or parent they never were...tell your children how much you love them. Be that father or mother that you never recieved. The questions isn't whether bad things happened..it's our reaction to those things..GIVE your children what you never got...tell them how much you love them...how special they are...LOVE them everyday. Never allow those feeling from the past rob them as well...stop the cycle of neglect. It worked for me, I have 3 children that I just bathed in love everyday...they lived in love everyday of their life with me...I never wanted them to feel what I felt growing up. Sorry to ramble I just felt someone might need this..I hope!

Do you agree?

Do you spontaneously chant in prayer at any time.....? At times I feel as I am adoring the Lord Jesus a strong wind of His Spirit and at times He flows out of me to Him words of adoring...They arent necessarliy repetitious...but they are at times in an unknown prayer language or romantic words of love for Him.They flow from His face light that is shining on me as He is causing me to adore Him. Ever have that happen to you or something similar.....?

Or the Shinto fatwa against Hindu?
Who’s got a cell / coven of reformist Wicca living in there town trying to oust the fundamentalist Wicca?

Is it just me or is it all the religions that worship the same one god that are causing the problems?

We just had a very well-loved employee pass away this week. Since I handle all the employee benefits, this is going to cause me a lot of work dealing with all her beneficiaries and insurance policies, etc. It's part of my job, but it makes it so much harder since we were pretty close. They think she had a massive heart attack in her sleep.

But, it is making me think about times when people say "they are in a better place right now". How do they know that???? I saw her 3 daughters (all were in their 20's at their mother's wake....they wanted her here back with them on earth!!!!) It was heartbreaking.

God forgives all people
Where is the justice or good in that?
God can forgive someone despite whatever they did.
There is no need for laws or punishments in the human lifetime then. Sense isn't supposely the human lifetime the part where we are judged by god like a test? So why are there punishments during the judgement before the judgement is over? Does religious folks believe there should be punishments for crimes? God doesn't seem to believe in it.....
