Ok, I know that some people will attack this answer and that is ok, you asked and I will give the answer I personally believe. If it doesn't make sense or you disagree that's fine too. But as a Christian my whole life I have been taught that Creator God is, was and always will be. He created Man out of the earth (dirt) and generations came from that original man. I struggled with accepting that for a long time, because it is hard to accept or rationalize. It comes down to faith-that is the basis of my religion and belief and why I believe. To some it seems to simple to be good enough and to others it seems to hard to do. To me, it is just right, I have had experiences in my life that could in no way be explained other than there being a higher power that allowed these things to happen. Some people are not content to believe that is possible, and that is ok. I do believe that there is a God, that he created us all and to get into heaven one must believe that Jesus is His Son, and He died for our sins. I believe it is my responsibility as a Christian to share these beliefs with others, however I am not the type of person to put down or condemn those that don't believe the same as I. Live and let live! It is a free country and you are free to believe as you choose, just show me the same respect I show you. PEACE!

I actually did a 9-page research paper on Evolution, Intelligent Design, and Creationism. All I can tell you about what I found out is, if you don't believe in ANY higher form at all, no intelligent power, then the beginning of the earth is basically impossible to explain. Physically speaking, yes, you're right, it's impossible to have even the Big Bang without a higher power. You just have to believe that nothing suddenly created SOMETHING powerful enough to trigger that one little spark that ignited a universe and more. If you're a Creationist, generally you believe that God placed human on Earth, in literal terms. If you believe in Intelligent Design, you believe a higher power or intelligent source started the Big Bang and set evolution in motion. I doubt there will be a person on Earth ever to be able to truly understand and explain how life came to be. Absolutely NO one knows that for fact.

The answer is fully contained in the Japanese Creation Myth. If you haven't read it, run out and get a copy because both evolutionism and the christian creation stories are just theories, whereas the Japanese Creation Myth is a FACT, and if you don't believe it, you're going to the 7th Buddhist Hell. I'll pray for you.

Before the heavens and the earth came into existence, all was a chaos, unimaginably limitless and without definite shape or form. Eon followed eon: then, lo! out of this boundless, shapeless mass something light and transparent rose up and formed the heaven. This was the Plain of High Heaven, in which materialized a deity called Ame-no-Minaka-Nushi-no-Mikoto (the Deity-of-the-August-Center-of-Heaven). Next the heavens gave birth to a deity named Takami-Musubi-no-Mikoto (the High-August-Producing-Wondrous-Deity), followed by a third called Kammi-Musubi-no-Mikoto (the Divine-Producing-Wondrous-Deity). These three divine beings are called the Three Creating Deities.

Many gods were thus born in succession, and so they increased in number, but as long as the world remained in a chaotic state, there was nothing for them to do. Whereupon, all the Heavenly deities summoned the two divine beings, Izanagi and Izanami, and bade them descend to the nebulous place, and by helping each other, to consolidate it into terra firma. "We bestow on you," they said, "this precious treasure, with which to rule the land, the creation of which we command you to perform."

Well, you are close - your ancestors came from dirt. The Bible says that God formed Adam out of the dust of the earth. Imagine- HIS hand being on a person. Wow! Obviously you have heard the creation story. Why do people find it so hard to believe that something like our bodies, our earth, and our universe, so intricately, and beautifully designed, had a designer? Let me introduce you to Him, His name is Jehovah, He is God, He is Almighty, Awesome, and My Father. He is a scientist, an engineer, an artist, a giver of life, both naturally, and spiritually. And He wants to give you eternal life. Just ask Him to forgive your sins, and accept the gift He gave you - Jesus Christ - as your Savior, and you will know the Maker of the Universe. Personally. May you be blessed with feeling His presence, and you will never go back. (To "before Him.")

however, a combination of Creationism and evolution makes perfect sense. evolution is proven by science to be real, so it's ignorant to really think it didn't happen. but it's a pretty cool phenomenon, so why not use it as proof of God's greatness. It's the perfect way to create a world, taking the best of previous creations and making them better, so it shows the intelligence of God. And as far as the 7 days thing, we can't really know what God's concept of time is anyway, so 7 days could be billions of years. Anyways if you except a little of both theories, it works out well.

You are right in your questioning. Big bang? Big problems. Evolution? Sorry, didn't happen. The weight of the evidence is very strong in favor of Creation. May I give you a couple of web sights to check out? I think you will find them helpful:

http://www.answersingenesis.org

http://www.creationscience.com/onlinebook/index.html

And please, can we stop with the "evolution has been proven by science" nonsense? It has not, and will not. It cannot be tested or repeated. It is a philosophy, a belief system. Anyone who makes this claim is obtuse about scientific methods of testing.

No evolution doesn't happen natural selection does.

I have yet to read about a geneticist that has shown a New functional gene being formed from a mutation. Fatal mutations sure, like cancer or a genetic disease. Even then the mutation has to occur in the egg or sperm and not just in the body to be significant.

ah, the mysteries of life! you will never get a concrete answer, because the answer cannot be comprehended by us. our minds are not able to conceive the secrets of the beginning of life. You are right on in questioning the theory of evolution...it is a theory that has many holes....a theory that has NOT been proven, a theory that is in the midst of a conspiracy withen the public schools!! the bible take the beginning of man and explains it in simple terms-is it right? is there a God? if so which God is real?
well, there have been many men in history who have claimed to know God...some have even claimed to be God!....but they all died!..........oh! But there is this one guy...he claimed to be God, did a bunch of miracles-even raised a couple people from the dead...then he himself claimed to be God-laid a heavy trip on everybody by saying he was sent to die...but would raise himself up from the dead!-apperently he did it-there were some eye witnesses who saw it! they all wrote down what they saw in a book called the new testiment-part of the bible!-but, enough, if your truly interested, read for yourself-you wont find the answer here!

The laws of physics are our present understanding of how things work. If we have observations that conflict with those laws, then that tells us those laws are only approximations. This is how science refines knowledge. If Einstein had been a Bible thumper, instead of having relativity, we'd all be talking about how time "paradoxes" violate the laws of physics and prove god interferes.

If you wish to fill ignorance with magical explanations, that's up to you. That's never proven successful yet, but hey, there's always a first.

I don't think that you are an atheist you sound more like an agnostic. An atheist claims to have proof that there is no God whereas Agnostics claim that they are not convinced in the knowledge that there is a God ~ the word agnostic comes from the Greek a (without) and gnosis (knowledge). Gnostic's claim knowledge of God.

Do yourself a favor and find a church that has "small group" bible studies and go through the bible study and find your own truth.
