the key word here is before, have you ever seen what the explosion of an atomic bomb looks like? and how did Joel know about it 3000 years ago? It is just a sign that the end of time is even nearer.

What you have read in the bible has nothing to do with 911 sad to say 911 was what the bible describes as Ecclesiastes 9:11 we know that bad things @ times happened to good people and sometimes we may find ourselves dieing or injured due to being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Now @ Joel 2:30,31 talks about the Great Day of God his war

911 was a Sunday School picnic compared to what is yet to come during the Great Tribulation. That is why it is so important that we preach the gospel to as many as will listen, because the time is growing short. One more prove is the global warming that scientist keep trying to explain. If they will only read Revelations they will see what is happening. But of course this is way to simple for them

Typical Christians! Always quoting the bible for every conceivable events that's happening to our world. While you're at it, How about the current wars between Israel and Lebanon? I 'll bet you'll find some appropriate quotes in the bible for that too? and oh, don't forget Iraq and Cuba too, Go find some quotes in the bible that fits the events there. I know you'll find something somehow!

Which wonders in the heavens?
Was the sun turned to darkness?
Did the moon turn to blood?
"blood fire and smoke" describes damn near every battle ever fought in recorded history.

911 was not it. There have been other events to fit the description outside of this country. They were not it. It will be of "Biblical Proportions" , as they say, or a large scale event in and around Israel. The Bible doesn't talk much (if at all) about North America.

I think alot of things in the Bible could be interpreted as being about 9/11. Just saying.

I think that 911 was just the tip of the iceberg. It looks like we may be going to find out soon if Israel and Hezbolla don't get under control... I talked to a palestinian yesterday and he thought that it was going to happen. He said Russia has bases in Syria and the US in Iraq and we are a hair from getting into it big time.
PEACE IS BEING TAKEN FROM THE EARTH.
Rev 6:4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

It's talking about in the Tribulation, after the Rapture has happened and all the Christians have been taken away to Heaven.
But you're right. It's spooky sometimes to think about the fact that God knew everything that would happen ahead of time and tries to warn us to walk in the right way! We never know what lies ahead.
God bless you, too!

No disrespect, but it seems to me that anyone that could get that meaning out of one sentence of the bible has been thinking about it too long.
The reference is so vague and not pointing to any specific area, time, or other specific.
Using the same logic, the bible could have been talking about last Friday morning when I burnt my toast and eggs on the stove and cut my finger trying to put it out.

It also says somewhere in the bible, "when the two towers fell"
God does not cause all of the horrible things that are written in prophecies. Most of the things are the results of what man causes. Their are signs that will come before Christ will return to earth.
