Only when something good happens religious people say it's from God, otherwise....! Since God controls the entire universe aren't they contradicting themselves?

This is not entirely true. Most good things do come from God, because God is good. But He places every Christian through trials and heartache so that we can grow closer to Him or so that He can bless us.
A perfect example of this is what happened to a woman named Carrie Ten Boom. She was a Jew that was thrown into a concentration camp during World War II. To make a long story short, she and the other women in the camp would gather to pray at the same time everyday. When they would do this, they would become covered with fleas. The reason why God orchestrated this was so that the Nazi guards would not come near them during their time of prayer.
See? God used the nasty, biting fleas as a blessing to the Jewish women.

Different people think differently.We have to accept the facts according to the situatiuon we are in.logically,psychologically.God means highest form of purity in life.thats it.
