The shaking phenemenon has been observed in some people as they are overcome with the spirit. That is only one of many physical aspects of feeling the spirit. This physical aspect was never documented in the biblical accounts of spirtitual contact so some people assume it may or may not be real. I do know that when I see something awe inspiring I sometimes end up with the shakes and it could have occured without being documented (John mentions that there is much he left unwritten due to space considerations). I personally have never gotten the Shakes when I feel God's Presence but I have seen others who did.

If in fact one is in His Presence then I would certainly imagine that a person would shake as would be the natural reaction of the body when there is fear and I can't imagine any other reaction. Certainly respect and awe but to actually look upon God would be death and certainly to know that the presence of God was there would be frightening. Every Christian though has the presence of God within their body, in the Holy Spirit, of God. There also are times when you could doubt whether or not a person shaking is actually due to the Lord or more their mind and reaction of their body to a perception of God. Pentecostals many times experience shaking during their worship so I would say yes it's possible.

Yes, it is true some people do "shake" in the presence o God and/or the Holy Spirit.
When it happens, it feels like electricity is going through your entire body, except without the pain you might expect to feel from an electrical shock. Other times, it feels almost as if warm oil were being poured over your head.
Some people have the mistaken belief that these types of experiences only happen to very religious or very spiritual people...in fact, nothing could be further from the truth.
God chooses whom He chooses, and His reasons for doing so, are known only to Him. Just because an individual hasn't been to church in years, or is not considered a "good Christian", or is an atheist or even a Satanist, doesn't mean that they will never experience the presence of God.
God most loves those people who are lost and without hope, regardless of their beliefs. ;-)

I have felt God's presence on several occasions and I did not shake, I had an overpowering feeling of calm, warmth, and a feeling of peace that I wish I could experience more often. Once I went to see a preacher speak at a church down the street, he was an Evangelist and I was very Leary of him and a little cynical when he called for people to come down front I went just to prove he was a fake, I noticed my daughter was their and her boyfriend beside her, the minister stopped at everyone but me, there were at least a hundred at the pulpit and he shook hands looked each person in the eye some shook, some fainted and still others looked dazed but when he reached me he did not shake my hand he just passed me by, I just stood there wondering why then I heard a faint whisper you are not here for yourself, you are here for your daughter and at that moment I caught my daughter before she hit the floor. She looked like an angel laying on the floor, unmoving, she stayed that way for about 10 minutes and when she came to she said she felt heat, and an overpowering presence and when she went down she got a glimpse of her future and she knew she was to work for the Lord. She started the first bible club at her high school, went to a Christian college and was on the drama team traveling all over the US spreading the gospel. Does mission work and is a woman who is an example of God's true works and presence. God Bless...

Some folks certainly do shake, at the very least. Some do more. The reason is that the Spirit of God is simply too powerful to just sit still. When the God of glory is moving on you you are going to move. If not you are dead.
Many who have never experienced a touch from God do not understand what happens. I won't go into more detail here but if you read Acts Chapter 1 and 2 you will see why you are very likely to lose the stuffing in your shirt when you come face to face with the living God. In spite of what we think of ourselves or how impressed we are with our "sophistication", God will move if we allow Him. He desires those who will trust and love Him completely. Not pious enough you say? God doesn't want pious. When did He ask for pious? He didn't. Respectful and orderly, yes. But lifeless and boring? Not my God!

Sometimes when I am meditating I can feel a vibration through out my body. It is not an unpleasant feeling. I don't believe it is an outside presence of God but it is my own raising of my vibrational energy.

I feel his presence often...but I've never shook. I just cry or have this certian peace or calm feeling flowing through my body. If I'm at church and it really gets to me.. I may let out a scream and black out for a moment....(so there may be some shaking there).

The Shakers of New England used to shake when they were "overcome with the spirit of God." I don't think that was the ACTUAL PRESENCE of God as much as just religious fervor.

A physical sign of a spiritual presence.
Like trembling aftter an emotional experience, our bodies react.
God's presence in our spirit is very moving, especially when it first comes, or at times when it is especially connected to our emotions and heart.
