Every holiday and family event, my sister and I prepare a HUGE meal for about 25 people. What can we do about other members of our immediate family that attend every year, sit down and expect to be waited on, then leave first taking home several meals worth of leftovers? Some will bring a dish to pass, but still sit on their behinds the whole time while my sister and I bust a** to pick up after everyone and do the clean up. They don't monitor their pre-teen children who are sure to be first in line for food and take several servings of dishes on their first time through the line as my sister and I cringe worrying there won't be enough of the favored dishes to go around, only for those children to leave mega portions of untouched food on their plate laying around the house for us to dispose of later. While my sister and I are finally eating, they announce that they have to leave and they fill up a pan of leftovers sufficient to feed their family several meals... what to do?

This was a delivery of a fairly large bouquet of flowers in a glass vase. We were not at home when the florist delieved so they left it with our neighbor. I called the neighbor at work and she said she would have her daughter bring it by who was running erands in her car (senior in high school). Now understand, this is a weird neighbor because she is a real estate agent with her smiling face on a couple of billboards around town. She's been in the paper and so she fancies herself somewhat of a public figure. But she is snotty, rude, won't return voice mails or emails, will hold up her hand and walk away from you if you try to speak to her in public, and this is unfortunately who the leadership of our 10-unit condo assn. fell to. I think her daughter was snubbing us by not at least waiting to HAND the flowers to us. She placed it so close to the outward swinging storm door, we couldn't open the door and had to walk around the block to retrieve the flowers. Was that rude?

Last night someone asked the question, "What are you good at making?" I thought I would be a little funny, and my answer was, "Love to my wife."

When I checked my email this morning, I found that someone reported me, yahoo removed my answer, and I lost 11 points. I have read both questions and answers that are by far a lot more lewd and adult than what I said, without they getting censored. I think this was ticky tacky and downright nit picky. What do you think?

I am dating a woman who is an interior decorator and I have the feeling that my house is going to be embarrassing?

My house looks like it is on the "white trash" side.

I do not have a lot of money.

What (if anything?) can/should I do?

...and get in the way of everyone else getting on and off the bus/train, even when there are lots of seats free?

I'd understand if they're only on for a short while (people who hop on buses for to get just to the next stop should really think about walking - but that's a different question), but most seem to just prefer to hog the the place and be absolutely thick skinned when people give them the evil eye.

Or you could have done something better? How do you deal with people like this? They don't know how to be supportive of what you've accomplished. All they know how to do is push you to do better, when in reality you may be doing all that you can for the moment.

a year ago, i went to an interview for a position in a company, they offer me a part time job, but then i rejected it because i think is not worthed (5 day 9-12, where I have to take 2 hours each day for travel) , but I told them it's far away from me to travel from home to work, and I am afraid that I would not be on time. The manager understood my situation. But recently, I just saw another higher position (also part time), this job is for three days (full day). I want to apply for that. Please tell me what I should say if I am chosen for the interview (I don't think I will be chosen anyway) to justify that I am not suitable for the job which is in the same location as the last one.

Thanks

What are alternatives to limit or stop this completely. We have allowed them to use it on breaks, but sometimes during slow hours, they sneak them out. It is annoying. If one does it, they all want to do it. Should we just eliminate cell phones completely while at work including breaks?

My brothers best friend is really hot and i've liked him for ages. So the other night i'm in the study ( in my house) and he comes in and starts flirting with me, one thing leads to another and we're on the floor making out, and his hand is, lets just say, south... A few days later he calls me and asks me to go over his, i want to but i think others might judge him because hi's 25 and i'm 16, do you think they will?

I've noticed that some people, when talking to other people, tend to go right up to that other person's nose. It gets to the point where you have to keep stepping backwards from the other person and you find the two of us walking in circles as he or she steps closer to you and you continually step away! Why do some people need to be so close to someone when having a conversation?

I have a friend who covers the same social circle as me. He keeps offering to drive me home but if I accept it will take much longer than public transport (Which is free for me on freedom pass) as he takes a long way round and visits other places on the way. If I get away from an event before he can offer a lift he says it is rude to leave without warning. If I try to refuse the lift offered he gets offended at that at well. What should I do so as not to upset him, I have known him over 20 years so do not want to lose a friend.
