While I believe this just might be his way, I agree with you that this would make me feel less of the passion in his statement and more like someone who was just a one night stand.

Let him know how this made you feel. You are not trying to change who he is, but rather you just want him to know how words can hurt and disappoint.

Hypothetical? :o) I don't know anyone under the age of 70 who uses the word "screw" to mean the F word.

Unfortunately it seems to be the word of choice,by many, in this twenty first century. Screwed means to have made love to you, go all the way. It is raw and I feel a better choice of words would be much more romantic and appropriate.....

Well I think we all know what "screw" means. My husband would never say that to me though... it usually would be "I wish we would have had sex last night" Screw sounds strange to me, but I am sure some people say it.

What if there were no more hypothetical questions?
My hypothetical answer to your hypothetical question is:
Objectification is vilification, but at least it is not vituperation. The hypothetical lover is obviously verbally challenged. He is living in the past perfect subjunctive.

Alot of people use that word. You, apparently, are not very old. "Screw" is a term people use to refer to having sex. Like saying "we scewed all night long".So, if your lover asks if you want to "screw", you will know.

Oh, it is just an expressive word. Take it to mean passion and that he loves you.

My boyfriend of 7 years sometimes uses more vulgar language than that when discussing our sex life. It doesn't bother me ... everyone has different preferences though.

why do we have to judge feelings from the words we give them? maybe this person finds it more clear to tell his thoughts they way they appear to his own mind. is that so bad? or it is just against our parents taught us?
