I just ordered a new mattress which comes with a free delivery service. I'm not planning on asking the delivery guys to assemble anything - they'll just bring the mattress through my front door and leave it there - I'll do the rest myself. I don't know if I'm supposed to tip them in this case, but if so, how much?

I am new to the neighborhood and am becoming more and more concerned for the 4 small children that live next door to me. Their mother just lets them roam around the neighborhood all day long and the oldest is only 4. I have also been told that her and her husband find it amusing to feed them alcohol. Even though I’m getting the impression that this seems to be a very gossipy area, I certainly wouldn’t put it past her. As I was leaving the other day I witnessed the mom leaving as well, only with out her kids. They were hysterically crying as they ran after her car. Her only response was “Just go in the back, I will be home soon, I just have to run to the store quick”

To most this probably seems like a no brainer, but I have been told that I can be extremely paranoid at times. Should I confront her or talk to someone else and if so…how?

I've seen some parents in public who do not watch their kids and do not have any common sense. For example, I've seen a toddler maybe less than 2 years old by himself by the playground, while his mother wasn't watching because she was conversing with other moms in her "clique". This little baby was climbing up the stairs with a bottle on one hand and then climbing down the stairs. He could have fell too. I felt guilty so I had to watch this little stranger, so nothing would happen to him.
Another time, I was at the library children's area with my son and there was this woman who left her two daughters (looked like 3 and 4 years old) there by themselves for about 10 minutes or more while she went somewhere else (she wasn't anywhere in the room).
Another time, at a different library' children's area, this mom left her young toddler (maybe 2 years old) alone at the children's area while she went to go do something else for about 5-10 minutes (she wasn't in the room either).

We'd get lunch together like every day, and he was the only nice person to me at the office, and we'd usually only IM throughout the workday. I'm 20, he's 23. I haven't talked to anyone there since my last day in August, though, but was thinking about catching up.

Is doing so through an IM weird or awkward?

Guess I was never taught. Please tell me the tipping avg. for hair stylest (fyi I tip $10 for an $80 haircut), bell hops (fyi I tip $1 per bag), home cleaners (once every two weeks and I haven't tipped yet - $20 an hour is what I am charged) and cabbies (usually 5%). I'm really confused on the reviews I have seen on here. I get you pay what you think they deserve over the minimum, but what is the minimum? Thanks!

Why do people find it okay to pick away in their nostrils? Everyone I see picking seems to act like their windows are blocking them away from society.

We're having a surprise party, but we're looking for a gift idea for the three siblings to go in on for her... something preferably cheap and easy to pull off in a short amount of time. She isn't into pampering herself too much and is a real family woman. Any idea is helpful at this point as the best we've come up with is a gift certificate for a mani/pedi or a massage. (Which has already been done for other holidays/occasions)

a guy at the trailer park in which I live had his trailer roll over on the side and now he's walking on the walls and ceiling. We all think this is awful because we have certain standard at the trailer park. We asked him to buy a new trailer or leave and take his busted up trailer to the junkyard. Is this unreasonable?

Also his 19 year old high school sophomore son was busted for looking at porn and masterbating in the school library. This is a disgrace. Why must people act like this???

As a customer, would you be more disturbed to be served by a man with super-hairy arms, or by a man who shaves his arms? Serious answers only please.

My husband was out of town and I was at work and my mother-in-law and sister-in-law showed up at our house without calling first. My husband gave them the code to get in the house and did not let me know. I found a note when I got home, which is how I found out, that said "hope you didn't mind, we took a tour of the house. Bob gave us the code."
He doesn't understand why I'm upset. Am I wrong to be upset?

Before advisory this morning, this really mean girl tripped me, and stole two of my notebooks. I went the first three periods of the day with teachers angry at me that I didn't have my notebooks. At the lockerstop after that, the one before my gym period, the same girl shoved me in my locker and slammed it shut (The lockers are huge). I heard her run away, laughing like a dying cat. I was afraid to bang on the locker door too hard, because the doors are really fragile. So I just start screaming until my throat was too dry to. It was about 4:30 pm (about an hour after school ends) that the janitor let me out. He didn't seem to care that I was in a locker for three hours. He just said, "what are you doing here? get out!" When I was close to the exit, I ran into my science teacher. He asked me why I was at school that late. Then I just sprinted out the door! Since the buses were gone, I had to walk all the way home (about a mile and a half walk!). Should I tell anybody??????????

How often do you share your opinions openly with your Friends and Family? How do you share them - Phone? Email? IM? etc.,

Are you comfortable to share your opinions with the community? Would you prefer doing it anonymously?
