No. There's two things that's not appropriate to talk to in either social or business situations not only in Japan but can be applied anywhere - - POLITICS and RELIGION. You can ask and I think they will agree with me.

It's inappropriate to discuss politics or religion in social and business situations anywhere in the world. Personal opinions, prejudices, and religious affiliations have no place in outside interactive arenas unless that arena is specific to the issue.

I agree with the rest: never talk about anything that could inflame personal beliefs or opinions. (at least if you want to keep those business contacts!)
