where I am now, people ask their friends/family "what do you want for Christmas?" (or birthday, or whatever holiday)... where I'm from, that would be considered incredibly rude- like asking somebody to give you a gift... what do you think?

Engagement announcement? My parents want to put one in the local paper, but I do not. I just don't like it. It tells everyone where you live and what you do for a living. I don't like people knowing a lot about my personal life. That leaves oppurtunities for accqutainces to pry about my personal life. I don't like people I hardly know asking me about work, my home, etc. I'll volunteer the info when I'm good and ready.

What do you think?

my elderly grandmother lives alone in a house. She lives next door to this family who moved in not too long ago, and just recently they started parking in front of her driveway. We asked them repeatedly (and in a nice, nonconfrontational way) to please not do that, but they kept on doing it anyway. So once night when I was over visiting we decided to call the police, because we had enough of their disrespect. They ended up getting a ticket. Ever since then they hadn't parked in front of her driveway - until tonight. My grandma and I went outside, and the whole family next door was outside and they started yelling at us for calling the police. The father said it is his yard and he can park in front of it, and we kept telling him that we didn't care if he parked in front of his house, just don't block our driveway. They wouldn't listen, and they cussed us out and said horrible things. My grandma doesn't want to move (she's been there 4ever), but doesn't want to get yelled at all the time

I like to buy things on ebay, usually 2-3 things per week, so I was wondering if that annoys the USPS workers, does it?

My brother is marrying a girl I can't stand. I don't agree with the marriage because she treats him like crap and they've only been together since November '06.

Since I'm the maid of honor, she expects me to pay for two baccalaureate parties. Both of them will have a total of 60 people.

I can't be mean to her, but I really don't want to be in their wedding! I did when she asked me, but that was before I realized how she truely was!

I don't know what to do.

Lately my husband, kids and I flew to another state to visit relatives and my mother came over to my house nearly every night the week before we left for our trip. She claimed she had to see her grandkids as much as she could before they left to go see their other grandparents for 10 days. Then she wanted us to call her as soon as we arrived there, plus call her before we left to fly back home. Then I wasn't in my own house 5 minutes and there were several messages on my answering machine,: "Aren't you home yet?" "Guess not" "It's just Mom", were just a few of several. Then our phone rang and she pumped me full of questions about my inlaws and our trip when all I wanted to do was go to bed and sleep. I love my mother dearly, but I found the 10 days we were gone to be a little "break" from her. lol. She does this every time we go on a yearly vacations. I don't get it. We do things with her and my Dad too, so why does she try to control our other vacations? What can I do?

Not want to share friends, well your friends with your other friends?..say you hang out with different people from work; to school college friends; to mutual friends you've met from others-is it wrong for me to not want to introduce one another, and that is why I only chose to hang out with so and so when I'm going somewhere instead of inviting my other friends-i'm afraid that once they meet they'll hit it off and then I'll be left out in the dust-this has happened before. Unless they already know each other, I don't care. But if they don't; I don't want to inroduce them.

I work in a grocery store and my boss makes the shedules on thursdays. Today he decided to change the schedule to suit on of the managers, and it changed 4 different shifts, including mine. The result was I lost hours for the week, and he didnt even give the time to tell everyone the schedule was changed. Should I approach him about this or leave it be? He is also hard to talk to.

I went shopping and when I got back, there was a big scratch along the side or my beautiful car. I'm pretty mad at the rude, thoughtless person who did this. I thought it would be pretty obvious that I did not want anyone to touch my car when I intentionally took up two parking spaces. I do that all the time, just to let people know that my car is pretty darn valuable and I don't want anyone near it. You would think that the thoughtless moron who keyed my car would have realized it, but I guess there are just some really clueless people out there.

I work long hours, and I share a room at home with my unemployed cousin, so I can't do it there - woudn't feel comfortable even after he goes to sleep.
We are quite a number of us in the family (not to mention the coz), so I am pressured for time when using the home restroom in the morning for shower time..... I try my best not to make any noise in the stall at work on my lunch break, and I always make sure to leave the area clean......

I ask this because so many people were taken aback by the idea of my sucking her toes while at the beach. Perhaps I was wrong in having done that act - I actually do wish to be considerate though.

I think its completely natural and it should be allowed as long as the mother doenst flash everyone. Some women do it so that you dont even notice. However some women expose their breasts in a very non chalant way. That should not be acceptable. What are your views?

My friend was telling me that it wasn't cool, or at least I should wait until the evening (not broad daylight) when kids wouldn't be likely to be around. But here's how I see it - you see other forms of PDA on the beach in broad daylight....

I'm not!!
I've had been on the honor roll for seven years (but this year, do to some problems I have, to get a 4.0 GPA).I'm in a lot of good actives and a lot of people know me. I know a little Spanish and a little of Japanese as well. My old crush, Taylor had got beaten up not to long ago over some girl. And he always has put me down all the time, make me feel small. He was a loser from the beginning and I should have seen it.
All my crushes ARE LOSERS, I don't want to end up like my grand mama, it had happen to her the same way as well.
Plus, my old crushes have friends like them and they keep thinking I'm stupid or weird, for the reason that I'm different from the other girls in my school.

How can I find some one who treats me right, like a best friend and turn into to my boyfriend someday?
Because, most of my guy friends are very nasty, bi, and gay and some a step above my old crushes.

Please say (nice Things) Thanks

What do you think of someone who likes to wind others up and keeps saying hurtful things and put downs just to upset? When you say how you feel in response to this, they say, “It is only a joke – no harm was meant”.
I do not believe this is true. I think they are spiteful and full of anger but I find it hard not to react and show I am annoyed. The person does not seem to mind how I respond. It is impossible at the moment to not be around this person. The behaviour continues. What would you do to protect yourself? I know nobody deserves this stuff.

I am having my high school graduation party during the summer and it's going to be a pool party. The vast majority of my friends are female but I have at least 2 guy friends I would like to invite. Would they feel awkward being so outnumbered? Should I just not invite them to save them the discomfort?

Me and another girl were working in an office when she suddenly stood up, said "Oh my god", and took off running through the building. When I looked around to see what was going on, there was a guy with a mask on, and gun in his hand, running towards the front door. I ran off before he got inside, but I think it was kind of mean that she left me there to get killed.

I bought a pair of earrings (dangling with ametheyst and pearls) and an H20 Plus Gift set for my cousin for her birthday.

The gifts are from Amazon.com and the total cost was about $55.

My cousin usually buys me a book and nice top from Talbots for my birthday and Christmas.

Was my gift appropriate?

The salon I go to does not allow customers to add tip to their bill when they pay with a credit card. This, to me, means that the salon is not encouraging their customers to leave tips.

I've heard that some people are insulted when they receive a tip because it implies that the establishment is not paying them enough.

I've always thought that tipping is a nice way to recognize a job well done, but I don't want to insult any one.

Should I stop tipping at this salon?

In my culture we don't do party favors. I had planned on bringing some to Chuck e cheese for my son's friends that came to his 4yr birthday, but I forgot to bring them! That was 5 months ago. Is it considered very rude not to bring party favors to the guests? What is the significance of favors?

So I just went through the Taco Bell drive through, and the gal at the second window was a bit large, maybe 250lbs. When she turned to get my drink, I noticed that her pants were falling down a bit in the back, and the tight fitting shirt was riding up... which revealed several inches of what really looked like white cotton undies with Spongebob Squarepants all over them. Was I wrong to be a little put off by this?

I don't think it would be a good idea since it is dealing with food and customers. Also isn't there a thing called a health code they have to follow. I just wanted a second opinion. They wanted to write me up, which means they could fire me with another write. Since I told them that I wasn't going to come in since I had pink eye. Well I went to the doctor today to get a note, but the manager still was saying I could work. I look like a monster or something, and if I was greeted by me I would probably leave and I couldn't do that to people that is just wrong.

She is the owner and manager of my division, me and my 2 co-workers finish reports under constant pressure, then the report sits on her desk for up to A YEAR before she gets around to reading and signing it, meanwhile our clients are getting pissed. The reports are seriously like 5 pages. What should I say to her to make her stop slacking and get some work done.

I realize that I'm slacking right now. Ha ha!
