I bought a pair of earrings (dangling with ametheyst and pearls) and an H20 Plus Gift set for my cousin for her birthday.

The gifts are from Amazon.com and the total cost was about $55.

My cousin usually buys me a book and nice top from Talbots for my birthday and Christmas.

Was my gift appropriate?

My cousin and I are both female. She is well to do.

I think that is beautiful of you.

Did she say something or express that she didn't like it?

If she didn't then she appreciated it. No need to worry.

I like gifts myself.

I am making 2 assumptions here... you & your cousin are female (Talbot's being a women's store & you purchased earrings & bath/body care products.)

I don't see any harm.

My cousin gives my niece, daughter, daughter-in-law & me Clinique products. I, personally, have no problem with this, nor do the other women involved.

I suggest you just don't go "overboard" in value. That won't embarrass your cousin if she is unable to return gifts of a similar value.

PS: You might let her know that it's ok to return the items if she can't use them. I have to get my cousin to quit buying Clinique bath produts as most of us are allergic to them.

Only if your cousin is a female. A guy would probably prefer something more manly.

UNLESS YOUR COUSIN WOULD HAVE A PROBLEM WITH A USED GIFT THERE SHOULDN'T BE ANY PROBLEM. SOUNDS LIKE YOU MEANT WELL AND TRY TO BUY THINGS TO PLEASE HER,MAYBE NEXT TIME YOU CAN THINK A LITTLE FARTHER AHEAD OR JUST ASK HER WHAT SHE THINKS ABOUT THIS BUYING ON LINE A FEW MONTHS AFTER HER BIRTHDAY YOU MIGHT BE SURPRISED AT HER RES PONCE.
