Aren't those things made out of super itchy wool?

Are you a manly man? :) Sorry, old Scottish Joke.

If you are comfortable going commando, by all means, however, the same rules apply as for a ladies dress. Cross your legs with caution and for heaven's sake, don't fall down.

However, if you are a newbie and uncomfortable with the whole skirt thing, it is acceptable to wear shorts under a kilt. IN fact, it's encouraged., particularly at something as staid as a wedding. Don't want to give Grandma Ethel a coronary, do we? Men don't realize how time consuming it is to make sure someone can't see up your skirt, and unless you are well seasoned and used to thinking in such a way - someone is bound to see the other side of you. Gyn shorts are the preferred choice since they are comfortable and short enough to not peek out at the bottom.

Well I am Scottish and if you wear underwear, you will disappoint the lassies. Because part of the fun at the reception when everybody is well oiled,is going around looking for the wee haggis, and lifting all the kilts. So it is up to you to kilt or not to kilt up.

No way, if it's a true Scottish wedding with proper kilt wearers the underwear is best left at home (hope it's a summer wedding)!

Here in Scotland, it is considered the mark of a "true Scotsman" if you go without the underwear.

If you don't want to be thought of as a true Scotsman, or you aren't a Scot at all - I wouldn't bother. Do you know how cold it gets up here!?

Also you can still get arrested if you deliberately flash someone by lifting your kilt.

Whatever you feel comfortable with. They know that you are not Scottish (At least I am assuming) so they won't expect anything. It is still nice that you will wear a kilt.

Have fun at the wedding

Well if you really are a Scot you shouldn't wear underwear because they don't. But if you aren't Scottish and you aren't comfortable without your underwear then you should wear it. It is really just a matter of comfort. They aren't going to say in the dress code that you can't wear underwear, and they certainly won't check ;)

I'm Scots and most of us dont, but remember 2 things
It may be a bit strange and uncomfartable at first
and be carefull of geting a Stiffy! because with a Kilt it can be seen more easely, because there are no pants there to restrain and hide the passion, and because the jacket is short
it cant be used to coverup

Depends on what you want people to see! If it's a windy day then definatly wear NO underwear, it will make the occasion a lot more interesting. Or, wear a strange pair of boxers or something - you know you can get them with a giraffe's face, or elephants trunk on them or something.
