Me and another girl were working in an office when she suddenly stood up, said "Oh my god", and took off running through the building. When I looked around to see what was going on, there was a guy with a mask on, and gun in his hand, running towards the front door. I ran off before he got inside, but I think it was kind of mean that she left me there to get killed.

No, c'mon she was scared out of her wits. No way she was gonna usher you to the nearest exit. You'd have to be a hero or have more courage to do that.

She was probably too frightened to think straight.

In hindsight, I'm sure she feels pretty bad about it, but when terror strikes we don't always behave the way we wish we would when we think about it. She is probably too embarrassed to say anything to you, or she may be ashamed. If you 'get mad' you may cause her to react irrationally.

However, I can also completely understand that you would feel resentful and angry towards her about her behaviour, as it placed your life in danger. Anyone would feel the same way.

Because this really does have the potential to create a difficult conflict in your workplace, I urge you to approach your supervisor or boss and speak to them about what happened. I honestly would not recommend 'confronting' her yourself, because you are both probably still in shock from the event, and your responses will be affected by that.

Such an event happening (a masked intruder with a gun) is traumatic enough, without this added complication, and both you and your colleague should really have some workplace counselling anyway.

If you do not feel your employer would be sympathetic to your situation, could you speak to a senior person whose opinion you respect and ask them to advise you, or at least represent your concerns to the boss?

Good luck with this, it is a very tough situation and I do hope it all works out for you :-)

Well you should tune up your insticts,if you knew this person for some time and she cries out "Oh my God" and took off running and she has never done this before, then you should have ran also and asked questions after you two were in a safe place. So don't be mad be glad that she did not just "freeze-up".

I don't think you should be mad even though that was a very selfish thing of her to do. She should have warned you but at that point in time people don't think about others. It's just a natural instinct to run away when faced with danger. I think you should talk to her about it. Over all you shouldn't be mad.

It was kind of mean and I would be sorta pissed too, but don't blame her much. She was in terror. Who wouldn't be? Next time you guys talk, make a joke of it, like, "Hey, thanks for saving me that one time when the guy with the gun came into the office." She probably feels bad anyway ... just be thankful you're alive and that she actually said "OMG!" instead of totally going blank like some idiots do when they panic.

I don't know that you should be mad. she probably was so scared she did not think. I would ask her why she left you. If she does not have a good answer then i would be upset and say something.

No, I don't think she did it on purpose. She probably was so scared, that she went into shock. When people are in shock, they aren't thinking straight. They are just worried about saving themselves.

She should have told you, but was probably in shock and not thinking. Its good that you found out though.

No, I think people don't react rationally in those situations and she probably didn't mean to not warn you.

Not really because if she didn't scream and then you would still be in there and you would probably be diead by now.
