i dont think four year olds really care, it is a custom so the parents may find it a little odd, but trust me, no one cares after five months. Don't worry about. The signifigance is just to thank the guests for coming/bring gifts, but you know what, you took them to flippin chucke e cheese, i think games, enough pizza to make you puke, giant mascots and a playground is thanks enough for coming.

Why are you still obsessing over a party that was five months ago? Has something happened to make you feel that you are being ostracized for your lack of party savvy? If so, don't worry about it any longer. If someone had a problem with their child not getting a party favor, ( unfortunately there are people who are very judgmental and think that everyone has a copy of their own personal brand of etiquette in their pocket), just shrug it off and chalk it up to poor manners on their part, not yours.

if it's not something done in your culture, then it is not rude. if others find it odd, feel free to explain to them that it's not part of your culture. but do consider asking your child what he feels about party favors. favors are just trinkets to have fun with, like toys. in other cultures, they may also be seen as good luck to disperse among the guests.

You could give a 4 year old an empty box for him to rip the paper off of and he would be happy.
Who cares if a 4 year old and friends do not have a hat, noisemakers, and 30cents worth of junk in a goody bag.
Now, if it is the MRS mom, you have a problem.

a bunch of four year olds on the abode could be stressful except you reside in superb temperature climate be confident to have exterior activities....I in lots of situations take my young babies to Ceaser Land or Chuckey Cheeses , Pump it up, or maybe Bouncing of the partitions.....those places are actually not that costly in case you have a occasion throughout the week and in simple terms walk in and pay and don't plan the occasion there ...Early interior the morning Is like the area is yours.....

Normally you do have party favors. Its not a big deal if you did not bring any b/c they get thrown away in 20 minutes anyway. You just saved yourself some money.

For 4 yr olds, it's not too important. It would be good if you remember the next time. They don't have to be expensive.

I wouldn't say so.
It's not a requisite, after all, they are attending YOUR child's birthday, so your child deserves gifts.
Not everybody does it, so don't worry about it so much.
